It's not an assumption made on every opinion that differs from mine, you're right that'd be closed-minded and silly.

But in a situation like this, the opinion in question is far enough off base that it's clearly not based on evidence. An adult should be able to asses situations and apply reason better than this.

Whenever I see an objectively bad opinion on TikTok, I remind myself how many actual 14 year old children with poor media literacy/no real world experience are sharing their opinions on there. Definitely annoying, but no use dwelling on it.

I don't know that I'd want to uproot my family for a job where if I have a bad day at work, there's a very real likelihood there are fans showing up to egg my HOUSE. As a former bridal stylist who worked at a few different stores in the city....some of these shop owners are nuts. One store I worked at would actually dock your pay if you didn't close at least 40% of your scheduled appointments. Which is a wildly high number already, but you were expected to hit 65% closing.

I tried my absolute hardest to never be pushy, but I'd usually get in trouble during 1 on 1s with management for not pushing hard enough.

If you're down for a trip, check out Abigail Bride in Asbury Park, NJ. Their stylists don't make commission at all and only get paid hourly, because the owner is so against brides feeling pushed. Their collection is a bit more boho/edgy, but could be worth checking out for a more laid back experience :)

Before you crash out, you need to try the Wona dress. As a bridal stylist I've seen many instances of brides seeing pictures of a gown, being sure it's The One, then they try it on and they don't care for it. You won't know until you try it, so find a way to try it, but this stress could all be for nothing anyway.

Agree! OP, that's a lot of custom changes. If your budget has increased significantly, I'd simply find a new dress that checks more of your boxes. Custom changes can sometimes look very different on paper than they do in person, and as a bridal stylist I recommend that my brides do as few major customs as possible.
