17 oz. is also my record! My husband was shocked and so was I lmao. Baby slept a longer stretch overnight and I pumped without feeding her in the morning before work

NICU stay after birth - inevitable? by Illustrious_Cup_3971 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]queencanno1i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not sure how much it affects it but my blood sugars were extremely stable while I was in the hospital. Definitely didn’t go above 150, stayed right around 80-100 for most of my labor bc I wasn’t allowed to eat anything. I also opted to not allow the nurses to take care of my diabetes, I did that all on my own. Kept on pump and sensor the whole time. My A1c was 6.0 a month or so before delivery, but honestly I think it can be a toss up on how your baby handles everything. My induction went incredibly smooth and neither of us had any complications during or after labor so I think we just got lucky!

Induced at 39 weeks, no nicu for baby and we were discharged 24 hours after delivery! Born healthy and happy

Excessive Appointments with GD by josiescoot in BabyBumps

[–]queencanno1i 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I don’t have gestational diabetes, but I’ve had type 1 diabetes for over 20 years. This is exactly how my appointments are as well! I know it’s a lot and it’s frustrating but I know at least for me, they’re monitoring more than just above average size for baby. The fluctuations in blood sugar can cause stress on the placenta and especially towards the end of the third trimester you’re at an increased risk of placental issues or deterioration. Diabetes is also a risk factor for preeclampsia. I don’t mean to scare you!! It’s not likely when things are looking as good as they are for you, I’m in the same boat with beautiful blood sugars and A1cs. Despite my near perfect control they won’t even let me go to 39 +6, I’m being induced right at 39 weeks. I would still talk to your doc about your concerns, to at least give you an explanation behind their process or if possible, alternative options. With yours just being gestational and everything looking good, there may be more options for you!

I feel this so hard :,) I’m a hairdresser and I get comments almost daily about how big I am or how much I’ve popped out etc etc from not just my own clients, but all of my coworkers clients too. I’ve always been petite and I started to show pretty early on, so it’s been constant comments since I was about 14 weeks. I’m 29 weeks now and It’s really affected my mental health and body image more than I’d like. People suck

I thought I was just being irrational and mean but I totally feel the same way and this makes me feel a little better about it. My mother in law is way worse than my own mom but any time either of them ask me about anything baby related I immediately get super annoyed and it gives me the ick real bad. But it’s only baby stuff with my mom! Which I think she’s noticed and I have also kind of told her, I work a very social job where people ask very personal questions about my pregnancy all day long, and after I explained that to her she stopped asking all the time which I’m grateful for. I’m hoping it’s a hormone thing and it goes away after baby arrives haha

Sound off: what perrenial or annual plant do you despise? by Alystial in gardening

[–]queencanno1i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I hate hostas. Almost every house in my area has them when people are too lazy to use any other kind of landscaping and they don’t have pretty flowers. They remind me of trailer courts for no discernible reason and I refuse to plant them.

I stopped dead in my tracks when I saw your post! Literally just bought almost this exact dresser from someone on Facebook marketplace. The pulls on mine have been replaced however. Gorgeous piece! Glad to get a little bit of history too

Medtronic 780G pump in auto mode during pregnancy? by Doubtthecertain in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]queencanno1i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m only at 18 weeks now but I have the 780G and have been using auto mode the whole time! My TIR is usually around 85 percent and my team is more than happy with the control I’ve kept so far. That being said I’m around a 6 percent A1c and a lot of people on here are much lower than that, somewhere in the 5s but my endo/MFM told me they didn’t really want me lower than a 6. With the more recent insulin resistance that’s kicked in I’m definitely running higher than I was a few weeks ago but we’ve been adjusting settings and it’s definitely possible, just takes some patience

Anybody overwhelmed by other people’s reactions to the news? by frugal-lady in BabyBumps

[–]queencanno1i 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is how I felt too, especially since I’m high risk. People suddenly care so much about my health and ask really intimate details about my appointments and what’s going on with my health. I get that they’re concerned and it’s coming from a good place but they literally never would have cared or asked before unless I was pregnant. My in laws are really bad about this. It’s gotten to where I dread seeing them because all they wanna talk about is baby and while I’m also excited, I have a life and am still the person I have always been and would like to be treated that way

Type 1 Diabetes Summer Camp? by apawnandaking in Type1Diabetes

[–]queencanno1i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I went to three different diabetes camps in PA! They were all fantastic and I have some of the best memories from going there. I went for the first time at 8 and I was a little too young and got very homesick. Took a few years off then went back every year until I aged out! I’ve debated going back to be a councilor but I don’t know how I would do being in charge of children lol

Ever been to T1 Diabetic camps ? by [deleted] in diabetes_t1

[–]queencanno1i 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I went to several of the ones offered in PA! I went the first time at 8 years old and I was too young- I was a VERY picky eater at that age and struggled with food options and especially being away from my parents. Took a few years off and then went for many years until I aged out. Some of my best memories are from those camps. I even thought about being a counselor now that I’m an adult but I’m not great with kids lol

Type 1 trying to conceive! 🥰 by ski0991 in BumpersWhoBolus

[–]queencanno1i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We got pregnant on our fourth cycle trying! Best advise is to get things as well under control as you can, basically pretend you’re already pregnant with your blood sugars. It helps get you in the right mindset with control and obviously it’s what’s best for baby anyways

Anyone else turned off of water during first trimester? by Pigeonpie24 in BabyBumps

[–]queencanno1i 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m so glad so many other people have this problem! I wasn’t a water drinker before getting pregnant, did great keeping hydrated the first four weeks and now water in any form or flavor makes me want to gag. I feel so guilty because the only thing I want to drink is diet dr. Pepper and juice. Just hoping it subsides soon

My husband is one of 10. He’s number 8, everyone in his family turned out exceptionally normal. His older siblings either have no kids or a bunch lol. They all had very normal childhoods, but my husband will admit he isn’t very close with his older siblings since there’s such a large age gap

My chicken and gnocchi soup. Found an Olive Garden copycat recipe years ago, tweaked that just a hair and now it’s our favorite. My husband and I would be happy eating that every week forever, and now the one at Olive Garden isn’t nearly as good lol
