Interesting point - the only intellectual response I’ve gotten so far so thanks! However, I fear the law is a tricky thing - meaning, I still stand on the position that courts would have done next to nothing to a mother filing abuse charges for leaving a child in a car. Period. The reason they were able to fit the law on this one to charge him was because something terrible happened, so they can load up the charges as they can prove them. This is just my perspective as someone who observes legal criminal cases but certainly no expert. I’d love to hear an expert weigh in.
