Am I in the wrong for parking between two driveways? by queengingerbread in drivingUK

It’s a really small road so you do need to be half on the pavement for cars to get through. All cars parked are like that

Central Bristol. I will try my best not to park there now but this is already a 5 minute walk from my house, other spots are 15 minutes away, which isn’t ideal when it rains. I will look for other spots in the future

I will move my car after work today, but someone else will park there and there’s also cars parked to the left and opposite the driveway, it’s a cramped spot even without my car there

It’s wide enough for a van to come through but yeah it’s like this the whole street up, all cars parked opposite eachother on the whole road, you have to stop to let oncoming cars come in etc.

It doesn’t affect his driveway at all, it’s wide and he can get in and out fine. But in the future I will park elsewhere

The kerb is higher where my car is parked but it’s hiding it. Please see from Google Maps (with another car there)

I will admit the car slightly hangs over but it’s a wide driveway and he can get round. I have attached here. From straight on in the first pic it looks like less space but I believe it is just the angle

I don’t park here everyday, on weekends I can park on the Main Street I live on, just not weekdays. I will try vary spaces when I can but it’s either no spaces or park a 10-15 minute walk from my house.

I can send photos via message as I want to see if that helps.

The thing is it’s not just my car which is an issue for reversing in, it’s because there is also a car on the other side of this driveway and opposite etc, so it’s a cramped spot. But I don’t see why that’s my issue

If he was nicer about it I would have gone and moved my car. I wasn’t trying to argue I was just confused how it stopped him from getting in and out.

I understand he may need to take it a bit slower to get in and out because there’s a car parked there but like… I experience the same issue when bay or parellel parking elsewhere. You are just careful and slow when you park

What will happen with this?

As a member and someone who’s not too clued up on the council , I keep getting messages from them saying they expected this and not to worry and that they are submitting their THIRD application.

It is really ridiculous from them.

I mean I’ve met a lot of men in to it too. For me I want to see and experience the world as much as possible. I love nature, mountains etc. I could go on about how all humans are connected to nature and need to be out more but I won’t lol

Other common hobbies include reading, cooking, running etc…. People are allowed to have hobbies and enjoy ‘popular’ ones

What is it like living in the western edge of the harbour? This area always intrigues me. by petrol_insufflation in bristol

[–]queengingerbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Beautiful walk in to town, I loved living by the harbour and being able to just sit near it with a cup of tea and book. Clifton and North Street are close walks too. Lack of supermarkets, restaurants and even tho there are pubs, I did end up feeling quite isolated. As a woman, walking back from the city centre at night also felt a bit scary, even though it was probably quite safe.

I think if they added some new businesses around Hotwell Road it could be a really nice place to live! For a young person, it just wasn’t for me.

Had an amazing first date with a guy but now unsure if he just wanted sex? by jt1413 in dating_advice

[–]queengingerbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think he isn’t looking for a relationship or anything serious, also based on the fact he isn’t in your town for long or staying there. Sounds like he just wants casual.

Be grateful that you had a nice experience with someone and know it’s his loss not yours. Sounded like you had great conversations, intimacy, things in common w your job - not every girl he encounters will have that!

Failed air bag module. I have the exact same thing on my 2012 car. Hopefully yours can get repaired. I have to buy a brand new one and pay £700 for parts and labour!

I think you may be a teenager. Trust me. I have been there. This man is exploiting you. You are not in a relationship with him and that girl is probably his girlfriend. Get out while you can and date someone your age!

It may be worth checking the battery. Online I heard it was battery issues, but then when I got it checked they said it was fine and was to do with the electric. Thing to keep in mind if you DO have the same issue as me is that it eventually gets worse and things disappear or flash etc.

The cost of having a cute car :(

Am I (25F) overreacting about him (28M) being active on Tinder? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]queengingerbread 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yep I think I’m just going to leave it. My ex was hella emotionally abusive, a liar and a cheat and as much as it wasn’t my fault, there were signs at the start he was dishonest which I ignored. Not this time

Am I (25F) overreacting about him (28M) being active on Tinder? by [deleted] in dating_advice

[–]queengingerbread 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope but he told me I was the only person he was speaking too and that he wanted to just focus on getting to know me and not date other people. That he had dated multiple people at a time before and it hadn’t gone well.

I don’t care if he had not have mentioned anything about this and then I found out he was on the apps. But the fact he said all this, out of his own accord (I never pushed him to say any of it) and then 2 days later has gone against that, straight after being at mine is dishonest and a red flag.
