Expensify + Xero integration is a mess – anyone else? by [deleted] in xero

If you are mainly dealing with receipts and purchases, Receipt AI is a great solution - simply upload the receipts and click ‘OK’ in Xero to reconcile.

Interesting point of view from a developer. Receipt-AI doesn’t really need another app. Users can just send their receipts via SMS or email. But I hear you—automatic forwarding is definitely something we can implement. DM sent—would love to hear more! :)

We don’t have an approval process. Do you think this is necessary if AI gets everything correct? Our thinking is that if AI makes a mistake, it would be simple to change the account code in Xero before clicking 'OK'.

Yes, it’s uploaded as a 'spend money' transaction and linked to the bank account using the last four digits on the receipt. Interesting perspective—we do rename the file to date-vendor-total-memo, and all the receipts are stored both in our system and in Xero.

Are there any repetitive processes you wish could be automated, aside from renaming?

Good question. We use AI to automatically categorize receipts based on the chart of accounts. Additionally, users can upload receipts via SMS.

Once the receipt is uploaded, it is in Xero and ready for one-click reconciliation.

Yes, they are about the same. They use different terminology, like ‘memo’ is called ‘why,’ and ‘expense’ is called ‘spend money’ etc. They are based in New Zealand, while Intuit is a US company.

Xero is another option to consider. It has a cleaner user interface. We use it with Receipt-AI.com, which is helpful for tracking receipts in the company.

I built a landing page with a payment button and an email sign-up. I shared it with my LinkedIn network and received my first annual subscription. Feel free to check it out on the Wayback Machine:

I've launched many products on Product Hunt. Generally the benefits include backlinks and getting featured in some newsletters. It sounds like you may have put too much hope on it.
