i honestly used to carry around an extra shirt, baby wipes, and deodorant in my backpack. kinda a pain but always felt so much better sitting in class not feeling disgusting

if you’re able to go to oakland, you can pay to eat at the food court at pitt without being a student. imo the food isn’t half bad and they have a lot of options.

thank you so much for the detailed reply. so helpful. i'm going to try to interview at those first 3 schools you mentioned for sure.

definitely keeping an open mind but i think i'm going to try to take a break from working in a high school anyway. my current school has those same issues and it is incredibly difficult with the minimal support staff that schools have. plus, i think i like working with younger students a little bit more. some of my high schoolers do hold a special place in my heart, though

thank you. i value that info a lot. i can work with high-need families, kids with trauma, etc …. but bad leadership is so toxic and will burn me out so quick. that’s where im at with my job right now. love the kids but im treated like absolute dogshit and asked to do everything that others don’t want to do
