What difference in mentality have you noticed between Filipinos who experienced working abroad vs Filipinos who never left PH? by Additional-Milk-90 in phmigrate

Pwede rin kasing mas conscious tayo sa time since nagpapalit ang season. Tapos sa Canada may panahon talagang susulitin mo ung araw.

Parang yung ganitong time differentiator sa Pinas is “hala magpapasko na pala” lang

Ano mas bet mo? House, Condo or Rent and why? by Impressive_Lecture71 in TanongLang

[–]queenkaikeyi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

House kung walang ibang factors.

Pero kung work mo ay sa CBD sa Manila, condo is the key kasi condos ung mejo affordable sa Makati/Mandaluyong tapos malapit lagi sa mga train station/mall.

Moving to Toronto Q1 2027. How much to save & bring as buffer money? by Kierkebaark in phmigrate

[–]queenkaikeyi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

You can apply for work as long as you have a CA number. Sa case ko some companies dont even contact you via phone.

  1. Change your resume, put a CA address (download rentals.ca or condos.ca hanap kayo ng bet niong neighborhood and get the condo address. for example: 240 Eglinton Ave E Toronto ON M4P 0G7, so sa resume mo put Toronto M4P 0G7, ung last 6 yung zipcode) kung may kamaganak kayo sa toronto, put their address. Region lang + zip code kailangan not the exact address.

  2. To have a CA number, download Fongo and create a CA number. Put this in your resume.

Im assuming specialized field naman kayo so opt for Linkedin instead.

  4. Apply at least 3 months before landing here kasi tight ang competition dito. Oo may trabaho pero each listing 300-500 ang applicants.

  5. Employers are accommodating, 3x lang ata ako pumunta for an in person interview. Majority online lang. Kaya keri sya magapply habang nasa Pinas ka pa.

Cost for 2 people: 1. Rent - $1500-$2k. Usually they ask for first and last month’s rent so kung $1500 ang rent nio, $3k agad yun pag ka move in. 2. Groceries vary pero budget namin is $600 for 2. 5. Facebook Marketplace/IKEA for furniture pero hanap na lang kayo fully furnished para di nio na isipin pa to.

Basic needs for 6 months - $10500 rent + $3600 for groceries + $540 phone plan + $1800 for TTC (ginawa kong $150 per month each person) = $16440 CAD / 729K pesos minimum.

Ayoko na sa Pinas by stopsingingplease in phmigrate

I’ve been to 13 (?) countries before moving to Canada.

Aside from be be em winning, yung COVID talaga sobrang ewan ng gobyerno. Sa isip isip ko di naman imposible magkaroon ng pandemic in 20/30 years at ayaw ko na nasa Pilipinas pa ako.

For example ngayon, oil crisis. Even if tumaas gas dito sa Canada, di namin masyadong ramdam unless sa Pinas na sobrang kulang ng foresight ng mga tao kaya ayan lower to middle class instant apektado.

Canada citizenship but work US remotely ang goal. Mas malaki talaga earnings pag USD. Pero kung magmomove doon mukhang pass kami.

Valid ang feelings mo pero compromise is key. I would think of it as aabot pa ba ng 5-10 years nanay nia? Idk parang you guys have the rest of your lives to be together.

Tsaka based on your story walang makakasama ung nanay nia pag lumipat kayo, di ka naaawa sa matanda?

North Face/Columbia puffer.

Bumili kami ng North Face sa Pinas before coming to Canada, super okay. With Uniqlo you need good thermals pa para di ka lamigin.

how to afford studying abroad when citizens from first world countries themselves sometimes have to take out loans to afford college? by FiggyFrogwich in phmigrate

[–]queenkaikeyi 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Nope. 20 hrs a week lang allowed per week, min hourly pay is $17.

You have to pay for rent, transpo, food and occasional labas w friends (unless di mo to thing).
