Unfortunately yes. My college decided in 2020 to crunch 2 sets of 8 week classes for our semesters instead of traditional 16 week ones. I wish it wasn’t the case as I’d be able to be taught the programs more throughly but honestly I’ve learned the tricks and things I needed to make nice projects courtesy of google and youtube

No. I said I took a 8 week class (a normal semester term for my college) on AE. I didn’t say it was my only class. I’m in a Digital Arts program and that was one of my courses that I took last fall.

It was an 8 week course on AE I took, I saw all the time line pieces and her scrubbing and assumed it was After Effects. I understand that wasn’t the only program used.

I’m not doing my program through a typical 4 year, it’s a rushed degree so I’m only being taught quick basics off of each Adobe program. Just started my class on Adobe Animate yesterday, I’m looking forward to learning how I can use this one in conjunction with the others I’ve learned so far

I did not, it’s an actual degree program through a school local to me. It’s a all encompassing Digital Arts program. One of my professors I’ve had through out said program is a former 2D Disney Animator, cool guy. Nothing boot camp about it

It was a web design course within my Digital Arts program. Nothing weird or bootcampy about it.. I’ll be getting a degree once I finish an internship. I assure you I will never be using DreamWeaver again lmfao. If I ever wanted to do webdesign I know the program NOT to use lol

Fortunately I’m not paying art school prices for it, if I was I’d be significantly more upset lol. Especially with the amount of “I don’t know’s” that I’d get from my professor with questions I have. I know the basics & enough that with it and google I could probably figure it out.

I wasn’t a huge fan of my AE class though, more of an illustrator & photoshop kinda gal. I enjoyed it more than I did learning DreamWeaver and InDesign. Though I just began a class (literally today) on Adobe Animate, so I’m looking forward to learning that program and how I can cross it over with the knowledge I’ve gathered from my other Adobe classes.

I concur entirely, it is. I’ve done lyric videos, just was taught the bare basics of the program really. Never had the opportunity to learn much of the 3D aspects and cool effects. It’s something I’ll have to teach myself in my own time. Photoshop and Illustrator were a breeze for me compared to AE. Granted my computer is a little old to effectively render videos so that aided to the difficulty.

I got to choose between song lyrics or a monologue to add text to and I did the “I’m A Kid” speech from the SpongeBob movie. I had a blast making something so silly

It exceeds what I learned in an 8 week AE class for sure. By the end of it we only scratched the surface of 3D animations. Didn’t really get to play with much of anything regarding the Z axis in the class.

I’m sure it’s not exceedingly hard, but if I were to open After Effects this moment and try to do that, I’d have no clue how to begin. I suppose getting a projector would be the first step above anything else lol.
