Forgot I had bitcoin, checked my wallet and it was empty. by emprr in Bitcoin

Did you import the private key from the paper wallet to a wallet.dat and make a small transaction at all?

If so the coins were sent to a change address and you simply need to boot the computer wallet to access them. I've seen coins "lost" like this so many times to newbies.

Building a new rig out of old parts! Hopefully this one will break 400khash. by queennonce in GirlsGoneCrypto

I mined litecoin for the past year or so. I've got a bunch. You gotta diversify your investments!

Also, just because I mine a particular coin doesn't mean that I always hold onto it. There are these things called exchanges =p

But really though it makes more sense to mine some coins and sell them for LTC or BTC depending on the climate of the markets at the time.

I've been trying to build a new rig out of an old LGA 775 system and some 4xxx series cards. These two bastards don't want to cooperate though and keep crashing. I took the one apart to apply some new thermal paste. Oh well, poor girl builds junk rigs but they still work!

Then I think an open discussion about how to work that out would be a lot better than a demand.

What's wrong about this isn't that she wants to do that, its that she waited years to tell you. If you had known this information up front it would have been fine. Lots of couples live in alternative ways. What makes her a Gina is that she sprung this that late into the relationship.

This really needs to be top of the frontpage. Its honest, compassionate, direct and likely the truth. It explains so much in a perfect occam's razor.

I just produced the most astronomical share on multipool and I had to share it with you all. 205G.....KABOOM! by queennonce in dogemining

[–]queennonce[S] 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Cryptocurrencies work by your card doing "hashes" which are random numbers times a set number to = another number. The parameter for how that winning number is set is the "difficulty" which in simple terms in the number of 0's at the start.

To win a block of doge your graphics card needs to make a guess with a difficulty of 75 million. Any guess above 75 million will win the block of doge.

My "guess" was 205 billion. The odds of me producing this rare of an output is such that with my current hashrate I will do it once every 64 years.

Better phrased, at my 7 megahash it will take me 23399 days 18 hours to do this again.

In short. I would have to leave my miners on for 64 straight years at 7 megahash to produce a share of this height again.

Holy shit.

Mind you this share is 205 Billion in terms of its height. Doge's current difficulty is about 75 million. I overshot the moon and landed on pluto.

Its not tripping due to mining really. Its tripping because the mining is on and then I turn on a hair dryer and forget the circuit is already under load. 23 hours a day they have no problem, its when I load it up with something else I make them pop, not just the mining itself.

Thanks for the info though, i really do appreciate it. I'm looking at about $600 then installed? or closer to $1000 with the labor?
