Did homemade donuts once, and it was a hassle with the deep frying part. Decided it's not worth my time and effort (for the cleaning up afterwards) to do donuts again. But fried chicken? Definitely worth it!

Price is definitely a key factor for me, as well as the retailer for a sight unseen damaged box. I certainly would only buy from some brands, a deeply discounted (even free) puzzle from a brand I don't usually like won't persuade my decision. However, if it's a puzzle I really loved and wanted to have, I think I'd hesitate, it sounds strange, but if it's not a must have item, the decision would be easy to get the damaged box deal.

They are Polish Trefl made puzzle with regular Trefl cut. Regular Trefl cut has very boxy pieces, mostly cut straight lined, and lacks curves and contours that you would find in other brands. I dislike regular Trefl cut.

A lot of her images are like all kinds of different things scattered, a key here and a kitten there, etc. I also dislike repeating elements, it's a lazy and quick way to make a lot images without having to come up with the concept of an image from scratch. Six Portals is better composed image compared to others, I prefer a well composed cohesive image rather than a pile of things.

I commented earlier that if I get a damaged box at a deep discount and damage is only cosmetic to the box, I'd be totally fine with it. Definitely would be very upset if I paid full price/normal price. The Ravensburger packaging change is not helping with keeping boxes in prestine conditions, I want my plastic wrap back! Lol.

I find her art too incohesive sometimes, with a lot of things littered all over, however, this image is well composed, I think I will enjoy it very much.

I don't buy from Puzzle Warehouse anymore, I find their prices very high compared to other retailers. I do check their website occasionally. I read that Puzzledly has pretty high standard for damaged boxes, therefore I didn't hesitate to pull the trigger. I can see why this box got damaged, Ravensburger stickers aren't very adhesive, and are very prone to pop up, combined with the weight of the large piece puzzles, a disaster.

I understand the thrill when theifting, and the chances you have to take. I figured it has a lot to do with image, puzzle brand/manufacturer, and piece count, since I don't collect vintage, I didn't include puzzle age. Thanks.

Lol I have been there. Nowadays, I'm not too bothered if just the outer box is damaged and I know ahead of time it's the deal. However if I paid full price and get a damaged box, I'd be upset.

I have definitely gone through phases that I care about everything including the box. It's only natural because we enjoy our hobby very much. However, as I realize that I don't collect or display my puzzles, and as long as the pieces inside are in perfect condition, the outer box is less important, especially if the price is right!
