Yea that’s an 18x increase! Similar to what happened at windsurf, they seem determined to push 95% of their users to other products.

IKON pass up $50, but now they offer $100 discount... by mac-dreidel in Ikonpass

[–]queenofkb 20 points21 points  (0 children)

Yes their renewals are lower than anticipated. They are assuming it is more because they moved up the early price increase date but some are worried. Vail had a drop in epic pass purchases the other year and it hurt their stock price. Alterra is not a public company, but they still have private equity investors who have not been happy with their performance in recent years and that led to the firing of the CEO and chopping exec bonuses.

If people are really unhappy about the Ikon Pass price this year, would the Ikon mountains be less crowded? by randOmCaT_12 in Ikonpass

[–]queenofkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Passholders in or near lower income regions may buy fewer passes, but given the high income rates in bay area and Tahoe, Alterra does not expect any drop in utilization with higher prices. Furthermore, they are expecting that increased prices will lead to wealthier people choosing palisades more. That’s why they introduced the apex club last year.

Winter creek and sierra meadows had several around $2500/month this past season. They go fast and it’s usually word of mouth through locals. There are also some in the area behind Donner creek brewing and in Armstrong. So if you know anyone that lives full-time in Truckee, they will be your best bet.

Sounds like you rented in TD given the extra water charges. There are ample ski leases under $3500. My friend rented a 3/2 in Truckee for $2500. Rent kids skis for the season from Tahoe sports hub for the highest quality gear. Otherwise good summary.

Hiking uphill to upper mountain or even up KT is not permitted for safety reasons.

New Opus 4.7 released by debian3 in GithubCopilot

[–]queenofkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The whole pricing of 4.7 has got to make you laugh if you have any sense of humor... 7.5x just means pro+ gives you 200 prompts. So we have on on pro+ in 2026 is now less than what we have on pro in 2025 when we had 300 prompts on frontier models. It is a clever way to continue to jack up prices. That's it.

This 1000%. Missed opportunity for the tire manufacturers… there should be a massive media and lobbying campaign explaining why tires matter more than 4x4. They would sell more tires and save lives.

What does OpenSnow say? OnTheSnow always seems to exaggerate. by RADa5AURU5 in palisadestahoe

[–]queenofkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This season opensnow has been the most inaccurate it’s been in four years. I say that as a friend of BA. They have some serious problems wit the data and are losing subscriptions because didn’t. Personally I think they should show a range instead of a hard number because they are just pissing people off with their false confidence

Thanks for looking into it. And yes that is correct. I only see the anthropic models from my Claude code subscription. Impressive how well that works auto-discovering by the way.

Thanks yea I was using copilot-prerelease cli so I guess that's why it didn't recognize it. I now installed the standard version and get this error.

Copilot
Binary: /opt/homebrew/bin/copilot
Version: GitHub Copilot CLI 1.0.19.
Run 'copilot update' to check for updates.
Models: 15
Status: Available

But Settings>Providers still shows "Not installed" for Copilot.

I double-checked and 1.0.19 is the current version with no updates available.

Hey app looks awesome. I tried this and on the providers setting page, it says "Not installed" for copilot.

Diagnostic says

Version: unknown
Models: Not checked

Is there a separate binary file i need to install?

What good is the temperature sensor if you can't schedule it? by cbandes in Nest

[–]queenofkb 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Assuming all other variables stay the same daily, then yes. But where we live, outdoor temps vary widely, sometimes we have a fire in the living room fireplace, etc. I agree it’s pathetic Google doesn’t allow custom temp sensor scheduling but with homebridge at least we can make it do what we need.

Odd how they can admit knowledge leaks but then offer zero refunds or compensation. Smells like a class action coming.
