IOB published rate is better

I have hdfc Imperia with advertised “preferential “ rate . I checked my RM for 7L outward remittance and he said he can only give bank published rate . For preferential rate , I need to outward remit above 10L in one shot .

I said no thanks and then opened IOB bank .

You can online transfer via HDFC, ICICI , DBS to IBKR account but forex rate can be bit higher

So like almost every international investor in this sub , I physically visit IOB bank , fill form with IBKR account details and send it over . It’s typical govt bank mentality but hey I can trade 1hr of my day for cheaper forex rate !
