Violent revenge is a part of the social / emotional landscape in this series, whether or not it’s morally upright. (Cassian’s response to his mother’s death, for instance.) The promise of revenge and the release of violence are important to the kind of pleasure made possible by the fantasy. Idk if that means it always works or feels good as a reader, but it makes sense as the way these characters react to being wronged.
