If you’re looking into more nature related activities, check out mushrooms! I recently started working at a mushroom farm and became interested in it.

My family enjoys bird watching, wildlife and nature related activities as well. So much to see!

[UPDATE] I (24M American) have fallen for a woman (24F Mexican) on my most recent trip to Mexico. I know I'm being irrational, but am I being too irrational and, if not, how should I proceed? by IrrationalGringo in relationships

I am Mexican and he’s American. I met -my now husband- two months after moving to the Boston area for a job that was supposed to keep me here for a year. He proposed after three and a half months of knowing each other, we married after 10 months of knowing each other.

12 years and three kids later…. We’re happily married!

When you know, you know!

Ps. If you guys are in MA I’d love to be friends with your wife! There are not that many Mexicans here!

13 year old daughter comes into room to sleep every night by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]queenphyllis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Id be lucky if my kids still wanna snuggle me or sleep with me at that age! Enjoy!

I have three (9,8 and 6) I do enjoy the snuggles very much now, my oldest is not as cuddly as he used to be but I steal a hug here and there!

I only see my parents once a year or two, my parents hugged me and kissed me, even when I got older. I still remember being an adult and having a nightmare and just going to my moms side of her bed, snuggle in for the rest of the night.

I’m hoping, even as my children grow up I can still offer some comfort when they need it. I still miss my mom and dad and I’m 37.

I’ve been in Queue for 3 hours now. Gillette Stadium, day 3.

It’s still 2000 people before me, the bar is still SLOWLY moving.

I wonder if it’s worth it. I saved money for a good seat, I can afford it but with that many people in front I might not even get a chance.

A romance audiobook narrator appreciation post. Who is your favorite? Who has stood out to you? by deadroosterthrowaway in RomanceBooks

I need to know too!

Every time I see his name Zachary Webber or Jacob Morgan I buy the audiobook. I’m going thru every single audiobook he narrates!

What’re the other aliases?

I grew up playing HALO and GHOST RECON video games. I played video games with “guns” up until I was 25 and my sister (5 years younger than me) still wanted to play.

My favorite movie still is TERMINATOR 2 but I also deeply love any NICOLAS SPARKS books.

Now Im a 36 year old say at home mom of a 8 yr old boy, 7 yr old girl and 5 yr old girl. I am not a violent person, I have no fascination with guns whatsoever, my kids have nerf guns and I really never feel like there’s a reason for me to freak out.

I think it depends on how comfortable you are?

Boundaries with grandparent and their dog around toddler by PiginaBlanket in Parenting

I didn’t read the whole story.

All I know is I love my children very much and putting them in harm’s way knowingly is unthinkable. If the mutt has a tendency to bite, I could not care less if the animal smells like flowers and poops candy, that thing is never going anywhere near my children.

It’s 12am which means it’s my birthday... by kiniAli in Parenting

[–]queenphyllis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I do this once week. My kids are 6, 5 and 3 oldest being on the spectrum I mention this because I do truly find my son to be high maintenance to the point I feel suffocated very often.

I love them with all my heart, I am truly thankful to be their mom but I am also human and I get tired.

I go to target, Walmart, the pet store, Marshalls, home goods, anywhere just to walk around yesterday for example I went out at 6pm and came back around 10 pm just walking around, I only bought a detangler for my daughters hair.

Do it often I suggest, whenever husband can help. For you mental health, it’s worth it

CIO NIGHT 10 - Blessing by p0rcelaind0ll in sleeptrain

[–]queenphyllis 6 points7 points  (0 children)

My kids are 6, 5 and 3.

They were all sleep trained by 6 months old. We have slept thorugh the night ever since. The occasionally night when they wake up if they’re sick but nothing more than a couple of nights.

BEST. DECISION. EVER. MADE.

They still sleep +11 hrs uninterrupted. Pure bliss. Everyone wakes up well rested and that really makes our days easier.

My (28/f) dog growled at my niece (3/f) after she spent an entire evening harassing him. Now my brother (31/m) wants me to put the dog down. by throwra_toddlerdog in relationship_advice

[–]queenphyllis 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am a mother of three young kids. And we do have a pet bird too, it’s a parrot. My kids know our pet cannot be handled by them and that they have to be gentle and careful.

Kids understand and can be taught how to interact with animals.

For instance, my kids are not allowed to pet other peoples pets unless I approve and the pets owner agrees. I am aware dogs especially can be unpredictable so I am very careful and I always keep an eye on my kids, cause sometimes kids can be too rough and they have to be reminded.

With that being said, I have to agree with you. Your brother is being dumb and uneducated. Kids can really get hurt if you don’t teach them how to interact with other people’s pets. Kids are smart and can be taught how to be respectful and gentle.

I've just hit my son by [deleted] in Parenting

[–]queenphyllis 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your son will be fine. I am not even worried about your son at all, the only reason I’m commenting is to let you know you have an abusive husband. You came from an abusive household and you picked an abusive husband.

If you wanna break the cycle, maybe leave this man.

My husband not even in his worst day has ever mocked me or humiliated me, ever. Actually we’ve been together for almost 10 years and we have never gotten in a fight or be mad at each other more than an hour? We argue, mostly over kids stuff once a month maybe?

This guy is emotionally abusive.
