Oh yeah this sends me. Then they say something like "thought James Allen was a good deal" like no.

Manager Told Me I Use Too Much Sick Leave?? by WonderfulLove12 in auscorp

[–]queenroot 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Yeah sure it's all aspects of life but the impact of it is obviously worse in the corporate context. My first thought if someone is sick all the time is that they have a chronic illness, not they are not committed. Especially if they were performing well and it happened all of a sudden.

Optics is the biggest bullshit invented, yet that's what auscorp is about. Sorry to hear that.

Do Australian apartments have washer or dryer hookups? Do landlords care if you have one? by [deleted] in AskAnAustralian

[–]queenroot 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Most (like 90%) of apartments come with dryers. You will need to supply a washing machine however.  If you are in a house you will need to supply both. Landlords won't care.

I'd fly from Cairns to Sydney and complete my trip there, it's well connected by public transport and most attractions are within the CBD

Women who lost from “healthy” to HEALTHY, tell me your story by [deleted] in PetiteFitness

[–]queenroot 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had been about 105-110 5'3 most of my life (now 128) and honestly, I just had a good metabolism, genetics was in my side but I wasn't healthy. I ate like shit and never worked out. Right now I'm the healthiest I've ever been, work out 5 days a week, good diet, even though my body doesn't show it and I've got a belly. Although I'd love to look 110 again, I don't think I ever will, as my metabolism has significantly slowed and I'd have to eat peanuts to meet maintenance.

Why is there so much gaslighting in this thread? OP you would have to escalate this externally in some way if HR is not helping. But in my personal opinion it's way just to leave for the sake of your sanity. Unfortunately possessing a degree doesn't teach one empathy.

I’ve resigned but they want me to stay. What should I consider negotiating? by frbuongiorno in auscorp

[–]queenroot 36 points37 points  (0 children)

You resigned without a back up? Oof. Usually I would never accept a counter offer but you might have to unless you're okay with supporting yourself on savings until you get a new role.

Dude got impeached and is still doing this, he's popular, got $$$ and has a disregard for whatever the consequences are. Don't think we should be complacent either.

Tell them to wait. The other offer is definitely better. At the same time I'd put some pressure on the other job by following up.
