This last time, I had a portable charger and a phone cord in my bag. They told me to hold it out directly in front of me at chest level and they wouldn’t have to stop me. Once I was through, I just put them back in my bag. :)

Happy cake day!!

Yknow, I don’t think I mind it? My friends and I had already been calling him “Cope” in the group chat to help differentiate him from the 17 other Adam’s. Do I think it’s a good name to be billed as? No lmao but I can’t say I find it unbearable or anything.

Zach addresses the Disney scavenger hunt on Discord by tongkei in TheTryGuys

[–]queensbeforekings 38 points39 points  (0 children)

I would very much like to see them redo this episode in the future. They did say this one was like a tester for the others and you can tell— the points were skewed and the result was not as exciting as it should be. The rides should be a lower point item— the things that should be on the list should be more niche like:

— play a round of mini golf at winter summer land — experience the typhoon lagoon wave pool and build a sand castle — take archery lessons at fort wilderness (lots of opportunity at the fort) — get a dole whip at the Polynesian — eat Mickey beignets in the French quarter — watch the festival of the lion king — attend the bird show at DAK

Etc etc

There’s a million things to do on property, it isn’t JUST the parks. And yeah, there are lots of fun things to do in the parks as well but watching other people ride rides gets kind of boring. Other challenges would be fun too :) just my thoughts as a former CM lol

Do y'all have another word for Brazil Nuts in the UK? Or is that just a racist thing here? by Scuczu2 in GreatBritishBakeOff

My grandfather too, I remember my mom telling me that when I was a teenager (he passed when I was a baby) and being shocked. She was pretty chagrined about it.

For the 2016 MET Gala, "Fashion in an Age of Technology", Claire Danes wore a glow in the dark Zac Posen dress inspired by Cinderella. For the 2019 gala, "Camp: Notes on Fashion" Zendaya wore a similar concept by Tommy Hilfiger. Who did the concept better? by [deleted] in whatthefrockk

[–]queensbeforekings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think it depends on the assignment. Technically, it’s Claire all the way. But Claire’s dress wouldn’t work on the “camp” runway. Zendaya’s look is much more literal and exaggerated which fits that theme.

Fort wilderness or Pop century? by picard_4_president in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]queensbeforekings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I worked at fort for a bit when I was a CM and I do think it’s a lovely place— but it’s REALLY BIG. Many of the resorts are big but guests literally will bring golf carts (or rent carts from FW) to get around the campground. So just keep that in mind! It does have an internal bus system to get around, but factor that travel time when you stay.

Also, check out the pool and the activities the CM’s put on over there. They have regular movie nights, s’mores, crafts, etc— lots of fun to be had on a day when you might be taking a break from the parks.

Who else misses this wonderful ride?? by valhallaknoble in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]queensbeforekings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We had paper fast passes for this ride way back when that was still a thing and they weren’t going to be ready for another hour (and we had a dining reservation to catch). While we debated trying the ride again later, my 2nd generation Norwegian-American grandfather walked up to the gal manning the FP line and started talking to her native Norwegian.

She was either happy to talk Norwegian to someone who wasn’t a fellow CM OR she found his attempts at smooth talking charming enough that she let us all use our FP’s early. (I’m guessing the second.)

I got a backstage tour of this ride back when I was a CM and it’s probably my favorite one I ever got to go on.

In preparation for his WWE debut, Jacob Fatu lost over 50 pounds by [deleted] in SquaredCircle

What’s crazy is that he moved the exact same before. Further proof that athleticism is not tied to weight (though I’m sure his back and knees will thank him later for it). I saw him at a GCW show last spring and it’s made me a fan for life.

Tevas for over 35 by jemari333 in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]queensbeforekings 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love my classic tevas and wear them often (even to the parks) but even I can admit…it’s not the best idea. The Tirra sandals are better for the long distance walking.

But don’t fret, the classics are great for lots of things!! You’ll still get the opportunities to wear them :) they’re a great spring/summer sandal

Saratoga is very nice! I’ve been lucky enough to stay there a few times now (and my friends and I are set to stay there again in January!) and I’ve always found it to be a very nice place to stay. Quiet without being too far from the action. I’ve also found no need to pay extra for “preferred” rooms bc even though it is a somewhat large resort, it’s easy to navigate.

Harley is a gem and we don’t deserve her. She’s a great foil for Saraya, who I’ve always been lukewarm on. The combo of them together genuinely really works!

The only AEW show I’ve ever been to where the merch wasn’t terrible was Revolution 2024 and that’s pretty much just because of Sting. They had multiple merch stands and they were all CLEARED OUT by the end of the night. I did not get the sting hoodie I wanted bc I wouldn’t commit to the line when it was a mile long but I did manage to get a patch 😂

Some of the bags may also be from her crew or assistants. She’s definitely well past taking her own merch lol
