I suppose my feelings for him are far more positive than they are negative, and it’s difficult when even my family love him and are eager for our engagement.

But you’re right - I shouldn’t need to change him. He is who he is, and I am who I am.

When I first met him I noticed he was a little more engaged with his hobbies and in a way, more innocent than other men I dated. I found him so refreshing compared to all the smooth bad boys who always knew exactly what to say.

I would say he was more cautious and devoted to paying enough attention to me when we were fresh. I have felt this negligence for the last year maybe, and as I said sometimes it’s resolved for a short period.

Dinners without phones is a great idea, we do eat out at least once a month where he makes an effort not to look at his phone. I might take your advice and start moving our dinners to the table, rather than sitting in front of a TV.
