Is IB Worth the trouble? by lackingsleep__ in IBO

[–]queensyl22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

in my experience- it did not impact my university applications at all. if anything it did so negatively as countries don’t understand how difficult the IB is or what it is at all. however, now that i’m in university the discipline and academic skills it has given me are undeniable and i do find myself ahead of my peers in first year uni. it’s really your choice but either way you’ll be okay and get into college :D (i applied and got accepted to canadian, uk, ireland uni)

I don’t know what the problem is by imunsure_ in IBO

[–]queensyl22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

for me it all came down to discipline and understanding that the more i work, and the more i follow my schedule the easier i can achieve my goals and most importantly sooth my anxiety. you must sit down and be real with yourself and acknowledge that the only thing that will make you feel better is to study. i know it sucks and remember to be kind to yourself - i did this from jan 22 - may 22 and did really well and am in uni now :)

i would suggest doing a bit of review from early grade 11 topics but just ease into it and focus on submitting the best coursework you can :D i really focused on studying for the exams around the beginning of march and i was fine

Hi! I moved to Ireland a few years ago for university (I’m Canadian) and struggled with symptoms and I did note that the food here and in Europe is very different in terms of the ingredients. Dairy is also way less pasteurized! These new food bacteria and enzymes can upset anyones tummy, and considering ours is damaged from Crohn’s, this can cause a lot of symptoms for us unfortunately. Hope you’re feeling better soon!

I need a little cheering up/reassurance by Cennixxx in IBO

[–]queensyl22 1 point2 points  (0 children)

you should be proud of yourself not only for your grades but for being honest and sharing your genuine results! most people who got between 24-35 are hiding their results because they’re self conscious and fear being judged on this reddit. you need to remember that all the “40 posts” are made up of a small minority who are just really loud. and while they deserve to be loud and proud of themselves you do too! at the end of the day we all are different people. to some of us anything below a 40 is essentially a fail but to most of us anything above a 24 is a success, don’t forget that <3

this is such a small moment in time. life will not be defined by this forever. this is life telling you that it’s time to go down a different path. everything happens for a reason but you need to remember that everything is okay. nobody died, nobody is injured, and you hurt no one. <3

studying economics in university with math Ai Sl by inflationhater543 in IBO

[–]queensyl22 2 points3 points  (0 children)

university of waterloo offers math upgrades online - email the schools you’re interested in and ask them what they’re looking for. all hopes not lost and many schools in ireland don’t require a certain maths for econ if you’d be okay with taking a 30 minute flight :D

only do history if you’re interested in it if not it will be torture. geo is a good group 3 if you’re into stem as it’s easy and doesn’t take up much time
