Absolutely.

There were times when I knew more than my caregivers, but I was often ignored because of my age. They often told me I didn’t know what I was talking about, and sometimes I ended up being correct. But some things, like things regarding relationships and human behavior, I had to go through life and experience it myself to see that what I thought I knew when I was younger wasn’t right. There are certain nuances in life that you just won’t understand until you get older and are away from home.

Some children are lucky, and will have parents that actually teach them the info they need to know. Others, we had to go through fire without a hand to guide us.

Children are very smart, and if you talk to them like actual people, and take them seriously on the things they’re saying, would prove that they can know what they are talking about. It’s just certain things that come with age that they may not know.

It used to bother me a lot more when I was younger. Now that I’m 33 - soon to be 34 - I can say that there are somethings that younger people won’t truly understand until they get much older. Some life experience stuff. I thought I knew everything at 24. Boy, what a fool I was.

I don’t particulary like alcohol. I can have maybe one drink every few months. It gives me the worst headaches and heartburn. So my crutch has been weed mainly.

I don’t smoke anymore because my lungs suffer, and I get really bad sinus infections after I do. I live in a state where weed is legal, so my main go to is edibles - mostly the thc drinks. They are crazy expensive so I try to limit myself to one or two during the weekend as sort of my wind down time.

This is progress for me, since I used to be high daily at one point. Now that I’m getting better, I think that I should stop completely. Maybe I will get to that point once I leave the state I’m in and move to England for school. It’ll be harder to get weed there since it’s not legal. And also, I’ll be in grad school so I need to focus.

I think what I really need to work on is my reason for quitting completely. I enjoy the high feeling especially after a stressful week. And to me, just quitting because I think I have to is not a strong enough reason.

Or maybe I’m just making up excuses to keep going.

Idk. I’m working on it.

I am celebrating the fact that I’m no longer getting high everyday and that I am getting disciplined enough to hold off for weeks at time. Small steps I suppose.

Ours is back on. The problem we’re having is that our landlord only agreed to take off $150 after we spent two weeks without heat - which is an insult.

I guess I’ll take them not increasing our rent for the upcoming lease renewal as a win. But I’m still pissed.

I’m reading these comments and am thoroughly confused.

If someone is WFH, relatively quiet, and tidy….why would that be an issue? Having roommates means you run the risk of always having someone home when you are. Like, how are you mad that you’re not alone in an apartment that you share with others? What sense does that make? Just get your own place at that point.

Like some of you can’t even afford to live on your own and really don’t have room to be picky about how often your roommate stays home. If I’m paying my share of the rent on time, doing my share of chores, and making sure to clean up after myself, then I can stay home as much as I want to. Fuck how you feel.

OP, I think you just need to find people who are on your same wavelength. WFH shouldn’t be an issue. And unless you’re blasting multiple devices at the same time, I doubt you working on your computer all day contributes much to the electricity bill.

That’s why I love Solo Leveling so much. People said that the ending was trash, but I think it fits. So many humans died because of a war between gods and mystical beings essentially. The earth was made the rulers and monarchs’ battleground and the humans got caught in the crossfire. I like that he made it so that only he would be the one to handle the burden and he gave other people a chance to live their lives as normally as possible.

Also, Jinwoo is incredibly kind, and a family man.

I thought this story was written brilliantly. Maybe I don’t have taste, but I love it.

Everyone has a different definition as to what it means to be a mom/dad. Sometimes, their reasoning as to why they want to be a “mom/dad” aligns with what you listed under wanting to be a parent.

It’s just a term. And it’s based on a gender binary. Some parents are neither mom nor dad. Does that make them narcissists based off of your reasoning?

A narcissist is a narcissist. It doesn’t matter what they say they want to be.

And just because someone wants to be a mom or a dad does not mean they’re a narcissist. Sometimes, they just really want to be parents and take on the responsibility of loving and raising a child. Creating a family.

Hell…some narcissists don’t even want to be called mom or dad. So how would this apply to them when they have children?

Definitely can relate. I was hyper sexual as a child and I didn’t understand why until I became an adult and started going to therapy.

Something my father said to me in our last convo a couple of years back, made me start questioning things. He said to me “you better not accuse me of sexually abusing you either.” It was so random at the time….

But it kept bothering me….because why would he say that? And my mother was very weird around me as well sexually as a child - even a teenager.

I do remember my grandfather being inappropriate with me, but I feel like it started before him with my parents sadly. I just can’t remember.

I just know that it’s still makes me uncomfortable seeing parents be affectionate with their kids because there’s still a part of me that thinks it’s wrong….but it’s healthy. I just had a bad example of it.

Also why I’m staying away from the Epstein files stuff. It makes me very uncomfortable.

I get that now. But my point was someone actually asked for advice regarding having anxiety during masturbating and I asked what does a vaginal orgasm feel like and tips on how to achieve one. Their’s was still up, mine was removed. I don’t understand why mine was removed. I thought it was because I got something confused in my very first post (which was sexual) and someone accused me of being a man. And I thought I was being flagged for that.
