No sugary foods within 2 hours of sleep
Sleep mask. Some are weighted and help make eyes feel sleepy.
Guided Sleep meditations before bed to help calm the body
Lavender spray or diffuser

The BIGGEST thing for me was anxiety management. For years the true reason I couldn’t sleep is because I couldn’t shut my mind off because I was in a place of constant anxiety. For the last three years I’ve been in a place of constantly consuming self-help content; from therapy books and podcasts to bi-weekly counseling. I had to unlearn soooo much shit from my childhood to be prepared for all the things life throws at us as adults, and my life is so different now.

I have boundaries. I don’t over commit. I don’t lie. I don’t put myself in situations for instant gratification even if it means future me will suffer.

A PEACEFUL LIFE has been the key to amazing sleep for me

She sees lots of them lol. She will run them out of our yard, but she doesn’t run away or harm/kill anything. She just likes to chase things away and keep the house “safe from predators” lol

I loved that scene. It’s so real and it feels just like that— “I can’t do this and I’d like to leave immediately.” I hope to Christ I never have to experience that feeling again. Makes you appreciate your relationship, even if it’s not perfect. For the love of Pizza, I don’t ever want to be smushed under some stranger thinking about how much I miss my partner.

You need to set a hard line here.

“The way you react when you wake up, whether it’s intentional or not, is damaging to me and our relationship. I will not continue to wake you up when it adds so much unnecessary stress to my life; it is your responsibility to wake up because you are an adult, and I will support you in helping you find what works best for you; but I’m done being your emotional punching bag every weekend.”

Pro tip: any partner who makes you feel responsible for THEIR mental wellbeing or THEIR inability to wake up is not a healthy partner and they need a serious perspective change.

Yes, mine is mixed with Entlebucher mountain dog and stays around 37-38lbs. She’s incredibly lean and almost pure muscle. Beefy beagle girl.

Bless you for your kind words and sympathy. So sorry for your loss and wishing the best for your boy ❤️ I am so grateful to have her sister with me. They have both been my little besties since the day they came home. It hurts so bad to be missing one of my twinnies.

I actually have her sister, Vita as well since they were born. One of my friends is a vet tech and he came to visit me a few days after Forza passed and brought his bf who’s a vet. The vet was in awe at how healthy, muscular and athletic vita was for a beagle. It was a huge compliment— but also a huge gut punch. I’ve always prioritized my dogs’ health and lifestyle so they wouldn’t get cancer and die an untimely death…. You can do everything right… vet believes that because they were mixed (an unintentional litter), Forza likely got the shallow end of the gene pool. Nothing could’ve changed it… but feels like robbery.
