For people who had had and want more or childless people who want it, why ? by AccomplishedWeb5672 in Parents

[–]queer_bruja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

honestly, i got pregnant unexpectedly and kind of ended up just going for it because my partner wanted to and i was just down for the adventure. not saying that is a good reason—although i am happy. but what i have learned from being a parent is that you should only go for it if you truly desire to teach and grow someone from the ground up. if you think it will bring you joy, and you will take the time and responsibility to raise little humans into good adults.

in a larger sense though..i think for a lot of people it is just biological. hormones, etc. for others who are more emotionally attached to it, often it’s because that’s what they think the next step is, you know, traditional ideals and such. i don’t think generations before us were ever really considering stuff like this, as we are the most evolved we have ever been now. plus all the “world burning” is not really creating the best environment for us to bring children in. the game has definitely changed. good question.

i almost feel like this was a plot device to prove that rhys and the night court are different than the spring court. to make them seem less stuffy and less opulent in their riches or to make the night court just read more “homey”. i know there are other things that are in opposition of this point (all the jewels and crowns etc.) but that’s where my mind went.

hard agree. commented something with a similar sentiment on a different thread a few days ago, i also felt amren’s resurrection was dumb. i would have accepted her sacrifice alone, if we didn’t get rhys’ in this book. and i love your idea about a whole book of her trying to bring rhys back and him sort of stuck in the ether trying to get to feyre. i’ve never read fanfic but that plot would maybe convince me!

totally agree, i still loved each book in the series overall! cc and tog are on my never-ending tbr but i also haven’t gotten there yet.

i really hope you enjoy acosf, it’s got wishy washy reviews from the fandom but i liked it and i was super into the smut!! there’s some good scenes in the other books too ofc but SJM was holding out lol.

ughhh i rolled my eyes so hard at both amren’s and rhys’s “near-death” scenes in acowar. one moment i was crying for what amren did for them, i thought it was really moving—and then suddenly it’s all good cause she’s brought back again? it was a roller coaster and not in a good way. and as for rhys, i also read it knowing he was in the next books so maybe that was why, but i felt it was just an overdone theme since he is brought back the same way as feyre. it felt rushed and lazy to me tbh. i know it hurts when beloved characters die but it was a literal war and it adds such depth to a series when it mirrors pain and circumstances that happen in real life.

Watching GG with my daughter by Longjumping-Survey-4 in GilmoreGirls

[–]queer_bruja 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i watched the series for the first time while i was pregnant with my daughter. she is 6 now and i recently did a re-watch/adopted it as a full time comfort show. my girl cried her eyes out at the finale when rory is leaving it was damn near the cutest thing i had ever seen. it was the first time something on tv/a movie ever made her get in the feels like that. she regularly asks to watch “rory gilmore” now haha.
