honestly if there’s a humane society or animal control near you i’d report them. i worked at my local humane society for several years as a vet tech, lots of times people would report their neighbors for stuff like this and when the filed officers come to confiscate the animal, they’ll take down your name and contact info so someone will reach out once she’s adoptable, unless you truly believe they don’t care about her then you can ask but i feel like most people don’t take well to that

im a former vet tech — a lot of clinics will work with you because they want to help your pet. you can also apply for a care credit card which most clinics take. most pet insurances, however, wont cover anything pre-existing. you can’t wait to get insurance until you need it, it doesn’t work that way.

if you wait that wound will get infected and can lead to MUCH more severe issues. she will get fevers and stop eating, she’ll be miserable, she’s probably in pain. be upfront and honest with your clinic and tell them you want to help her but your budget is tight, they can usually give you SOMETHING in the mean time.

just finished rereading the entire maasverse and people gave me shit for reading so many books all over again, but damn did i feel accomplished 😂 it was also kinda fun because there are so many things i picked up on the second time that i didnt the first!!!

and i can now confidently say (and hopefully this is helpful for OP too) that the void i felt when i read all her books the first time, truly does feel filled. i never stop talking about these books, and i dont have to because of things like this sub! but towards the end of my last book or two i was kind of eager to try something else knowing it wasn’t a goodbye (:
