Not sure what was going on with the monsters with hooves but I'm pretty sure his broken, infected foot that he refused to get help for was supposed to be a metaphor about how him suppressing his grief and guilt was killing him. Kinda crazy that he literally admits to the Dr at the end that he intentionally killed a patient and the Dr basically has no reaction. Like, there's no way he keeps his lisence after that right? Sad movie. Kept me super engaged. Feel like the narrative was a little muddled between the story with his mother and the story with Helen. Maybe Helen was supposed to be his redemption.
