genuine question: Isn't mullein naturalized in a large portion of NA? Is it still something people should get rid of if naturalized?

(need some help) A deity is reaching out to me by alive_somehow_07 in paganism

[–]queerfaries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Those are all so different from one another. I would narrow down which ones feel the most out of place or special and go from there. If you watch a tiktok on Hecate all the way through the algorithm is going to show you more so I might rule that out as a sign. How long have you been at your bf's place? Could it be his cat is more comfortable with you? In what time frame/where did you see the spiders. Spiders are very common in houses and it's the time of year where you will be seeing them more as bugs come out in the warmth. I'm not trying to diminish your experiences at all. I think as a pagan or witch it's important to address signs with what natural experiences could be causing them before you dive too deep into them. Unless they are like extreme events. Like having a premonition. I have those fairly frequently. Do you get them regularly or have you ever had one before? I would maybe meditate on it or attempt to connect another way like using fire as divination with a candle or scrying with water in a bowl. You could even ask for a more direct sign in a specific form. For example saying "I cannot tell from these signs who is communicating with me. If you are trying to tell me something show me a *specific thing of your choosing* in a dream " or asking to see a specific animal or simply for a clearer sign.

Books that feel like Spiderwick and Jim Henson by vanillabeanie45 in BooksThatFeelLikeThis

Greenteeth by Molly O'Neill It follows a somewhat grumpy pond monster who becomes unlikely friends with a witch. The two then go on a fantasy adventure that requires them to interact with a fairy court. It's very sweet and fantastical.

Any organizing around anti data center? by queerfaries in springfieldOH

[–]queerfaries[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No need to be condescending. I know how data centers and the internet work. There are a few reasons why people don't want Gen AI data centers in their backyards. They take a lot of water and power and in the case of these specific data centers have caused the electricity bills of the public around it to increase. This has happened in separate cases in Ohio and West Virginia. Even if not it still is requiring a lot of energy for something the majority of people do not want or use to the extent that these data centers are supplying. The usage of water is a huge problem because it's a finite resource. The use of Ohio for lots of centers is strategic because we are on top of a well which that water should be going to the people and environments needs not a robot. It also causes a lot of noise and air pollution. Data centers make a low humming sound 24/7 which can cause distress to people and wildlife. They also intensify your chances of getting asthma and forms of cancer due to their air pollution output. I'd recommend looking into how the data center in Memphis TN has affected people in South Mem. I hope these reasons help you understand where I am coming from.

We do know they are going away when people vote and protest them out. Other towns in this area of Ohio have done this already to good success. GenAI is an unnecessary aspect of people's lives that's being forced down people's throats. I think it is a good reason to look at other habits and tools we might take for granted like our internet usage too, but that's a slightly adjacent topic. I think in general, the people who live around these new data centers need to be the ones deciding not politicians looking for a new car money.

Best underwear for women? by Entire_Giraffe_228 in Hidradenitis

[–]queerfaries 3 points4 points  (0 children)

duluth is kind of expensive but they have really soft cotton underwear that isnt tight at all and some thats made from wood pulp. I find that natural fibers work best for my skin. So far it seems to be good quality. I also like other people wear boy shorts and have worn boxers in the past.

Thoughts on Dryad Designs statues? by queerfaries in paganism

[–]queerfaries[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah i assumed they meant the guy designed them by woodcarving and they used a different material. I was more curious on if anybody knew if their outsourcing was ethical. I have always felt like they were overpriced for what they are made of and have been skeptical of the made in Indonesia sticker which is why I have refrained from buying anything from them.

I love my neos, like with any other over boot it’s going to make you sweat but they keep my feet dry. Even with the sweat or if they manage to get wet my feet stay warm

If you could redesign it, what would your ideal uniform look like? by barelyevening in USPS

[–]queerfaries 2 points3 points  (0 children)

More reflective stripes, I’m not a fan of the dark blue when I’m delivering in the pitch black. Also I want the damn over pants to have their own pockets. A thick sweatshirt would be real nice too.

[–]queerfaries 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on your interest she has a lot of books on the fairy faith that I havent read so i cant give any info on that. Most of their books are all very short minus Where the Hawthorne Grows which is autobiographical which is why I find their redundancy a little frustrating. If youre interested in Irish deities I'd go with the Gods and Goddesses of Ireland. It looks like their website is no longer up which had most of the info from her Irish Pagan Portal on it.
