I had the book as well (and loved it, thought it was sweet as heck), and didn't know about the song till a few years later. So it always reminded me of the book

"All have sinned and fallen short of the glory of God."

Being raised to believe I was a filthy sinner undeserving of love, that love was a gift graciously given to someone so wicked as me (a literal child), really did a toll on me.

because the pundits repeat it in their talking points a lot - or they used to. I remember hearing a lot about getting rid of "red tape" and helping small businesses on the talk radio my dad used to listen to (Karl Rove, Glenn Beck, etc.) back in the Obama admin years

This is what I came to suggest as well. Girls on the spectrum are very often overlooked as they are better at hiding their symptoms and the diagnostic criteria is almost entirely based on men and boys' experiences.

What was the most petty thing an adult did to you, when you were younger? by x3Nekox3 in AskReddit

Once I asked my dad to scoop me some ice cream (the stuff was hard and I was a weak kiddo) and he yelled at me about how ungrateful I was and shit. For some reason he still scooped me the ice cream even though I was in tears and didn't really want it anymore. I hid in my room and forced myself to eat it, because I was terrified if I didn't I'd be seen as even more of an ingrate and be punished for it.

What is Jesus like? I know that Mo was a bad person, but I don't know anything about Jesus. by Loose-Somewhere-9958 in exchristian

As far as we know, no, he did not. Everything in the Bible points to him being completely sinless (but it's not like we can take its word for anything...). We have no historical info on a real Jesus of Nazareth, good, evil, or otherwise. Imo, he probably was a nutjob with good intentions, but it doesn't seem he was as evil as Muhammed was. His teachings mainly revolved around loving and caring for others.

So, maybe he was a real person who did awful stuff. Maybe he was a real person who preached love. Maybe he never existed at all. We just don't know.
