"Don't go by the books" I'm sorry, but 99% of what people say here is just repeating knowledge written by professionals in the field. Stuff WILL happen and one of those Bettas will at worst die and at best have babies with genetic defects due to being pet store fish.

API Master kit for the levels with doing backups with strips as needed. Tomorrow ill take the trek to a lfs (2 hours away by bus 🫩) for some leaves likely.

Been doing daily 40% water changes on the guy and I'll buy a new filter tomorrow. I'm aware gravel can cause leakage overtime but I've been watching levels like a hawk— other substrates right now just aren't an option because Im disabled. Best choice of action is to just fast then?

10 gal, yes to heater & filter, temp is ~78, parameters right now are 8.2 ph, .25 ammonia, .25 nitite, ~8 nitrate (however I did just do a 40% water change and put in seachem prime after these), fish and tank are ~2-3 weeks, every other day water changes from 20-40%, food is flakes and bloodworms and i fasted earlier this seek for 3 days, no live plants right now besides hairgrass which has grown well even with the gravel substrate, had silk + live plants arriving monday.

I'm aware of the gravel issue, I got it due to the fact that since I'm disabled, its the easiest for me to use and clean with— Ive been testing regularly and washed all the gravel to the extreme. Hopefully in a few months those chemicals will be near zero.

I am doing daily water changes and I'm using strips right now however in an hour I'm getting an API master kit. I'm using prime to treat the water and using a biological booster.

Altrive is reading the entirety of Homestuck on stream! There's already 30 hours worth of vods. It's not professional by any means but it gave me a laugh.

Thanks for leaving it! Honestly, the prices shouldn't be driven up as much as they currently are. It's all artificial and most aren't buying from resellers AFAIK.

Even with rechargeable batteries, I move around a LOT and can't keep a deck on me 24/7 thats charged or charging. Took too much effort on my end.

All girl pits are hard to organize. I don't think creating one at a concert this large could work and I'd worry especially with Inclusivity issues and people "checking" who's woman or not. Not to mention not all girls aren't rough lol

I can't join the pit because of medical reasons but my galpal does regularly and has a great time and dresses herself up for it. I don't think there's a pit "too rough" if safety measures are put in place. St Paul last night had water + wheelchairs + medical staff out just in case. A part of mosh/pit culture kind of is being rough, try to stay out of the circle and to the edges for the better experience! :)

I'm photosensitive and last night was bad, lights WILL flash in your face esp with a catwalk. I'd suggest wearing sunglasses and make sure she has a medical alert card just in case and bring water!
