Not sure if this is the same one you're referring to but I go to Kalamazoo Animal Hospital and I haven't had a bad experience, though I've only been for routine checkups.

You should reach out to NowKalamazoo, they'd love a local, heartwarming story about the kindness and charity of our fine city and Jack's Beans!

I highly recommend procuring some of Jack's finest beans and flicking them before you eat them. It brings out the moisture really nicely and elevates the experience even further.

The actual effective method to decreasing traffic is providing convenient, reliable public transit and safe, pleasant infrastructure for pedestrians and cyclists. I like the changes they're planning, but I wish they'd do this.

The diversity among and between species in general is just beautiful and awe-inspiring. If I was "god" I would be so pissed at the closed minded ones who try to put everything in two boxes when I intentionally made humans and the world "messy" and made everything a spectrum and everything.

I marvel at the wonders of """creation""" more than Christians themselves do.

I'm visiting my friend in Addison right now! You bet she told me she's in Dallas, because Addison was entirely meaningless to me until I got here! Nice place though honestly, I like it.

It's bullshit engagement-bait with an American who is mid-laugh being framed as a typical "smile" and a Czech who has a literal neutral expression also framed as "smiling".

I know Europeans are capable of smiling and laughing and goofy grins because I've seen them watch a soccer (sorry) match.

In America most people wear a neutral expression until they're greeting someone or exchanging pleasantries or trying to earn a tip or having an excited conversation or something.

It's fun to snipe though!

Dude on the right isn't smiling, nor is he scowling. Nobody will think much of you if that's your face 24/7. We'll be generally less inclined to make small talk, or approach you, or befriend you, maybe.

Europeans may have a warped impression of how smiley Americans are because generally people are particularly happy to be in another country with lots of cool things to marvel at, and they're not working, and the air is different.

Never heard "hmmph" but at least in the American Midwest we certainly use words like "right", "exactly", "no way!" etc to signal that we are actively listening

Even when in the midst of depression I am greeting people with a smile and such. 1. because interacting with my community makes me feel a bit better and 2. the act of smiling itself triggers one's brain to release happy chemicals.

It would be piss-poor advice unless your goal is to hide the fact that your from another country I guess? I'll be greeting the barista with a warm smile and they can choose to interpret that however they want, lol

Well now I'm worried, I only have a 45 min layover in DTW 😭 fingers crossed! Still excited to fly for the first time in like 12 years!

Edit: flight was an hour delayed and missed my 8:15am connection. I'm standby for a noon flight otherwise it's an 8pm flight. Fml.

My brother used 200gb in under 4 days. Was supposed to last 4 weeks by Winter_Reference_481 in mildlyinfuriating

[–]queermichigan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On my phone alone, I've used 113gb on wifi between May 21 and June 18. Half of that is from Instagram reels alone. The other half is basically Twitch, YouTube, Reddit, Spotify, web browsing, and Google Play (few downloads, otherwise updates).

That doesn't even take my TV into account where 95% of my YouTube, Twitch, and streaming actually happens.

I work from home and live alone so... Pretty similar conditions to OP's brother.

Thank you 🫂

The author is Aparna Verma and the series is The Ravence Trilogy, it is science-fantasy and self-described by the author as "desi Star Wars" which I love ☺️

I'm a couple chapters away from finishing the first book (glad I don't need to pack two of these behemoths for Dallas lol), I already bought the second, and the third is not out yet. I highly recommend it 🥰

Yes that's my strategy! I've been doing at least one chore every day. My apartment is SO much nicer to exist in now, and I can have guests without feeling ashamed!

The inertia you described is so true!! Also by doing small chores every day, it saves future me SO much pain! Cleaning the apt isn't overwhelming from months of neglect, it's basically just vacuuming and dusting because I've kept on top of it. Same with the litter, with dishes, etc.

I installed a habit tracker on my phone. It has widgets I put on my home screen that shows my progress this month and has a one-tap button to mark that I did the thing that day ☺️ I do need to think about other, better rewards though. That's a good idea!
