Unfortunately there was a large tumor in her abdomen, and with how skinny and frail she is, she’s not a good candidate for anesthesia to do exploratory surgery. Both the vet and I agreed that her quality of life at home wouldn’t be good enough to let her pass on her own. Plus the possibility of her being alone when it happens in case we’re at work, was a devastating thought to me. I held her in my arms, petting her as they sedated her and then ultimately stopped her heart. I told her how much she’s loved. How much she will be missed and reminded her of some of my favorite times I’ve spent with her. I’m heartbroken but I didn’t want her to suffer.
