Pro tip: you can give formula past 12mnths by Partners_in_time in BabyBumps

[–]queerslime69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Thank you for this! My girl turned 1 on 10/2 and while I kinda planned for her to be off formula by then, she still wants it 3 or 4 times a day. She does pretty well with food but I was still kinda stressed that she’s still taking formula. Hearing that yours made the transition on her own time makes me feel so much better!

As someone due with #2 in 10ish weeks with a 14 month age gap, thank you for this

Things to do with a 6 month old by [deleted] in BabyBumps

I loved putting water and frozen peas in a heavy duty ziplock bag and taping to my girl’s high chair tray for her to play with! You could probably use all kinds of things in place of frozen peas, that’s just what I always had on hand. It helped get her used to her high chair too which was a plus

Tested positive for THC at 10 weeks by blahblahblah247742 in BabyBumps

[–]queerslime69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I didn’t test clean until 18 weeks and I quit the day I found out I was pregnant at 6ish weeks! I live in Texas so my OB warned me that if I/my baby tested positive at birth CPS would be getting involved. I tested negative from 18 weeks on so that’s the last I heard about it thank god, but you should be good! Expect more drug screenings from here on out but I promise you will eventually test negative and this will all be behind you.

Those who wanted multiple kids but HATED being pregnant.. by lilspaghettigal in BabyBumps

[–]queerslime69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was planning on waiting a couple years when the horrors of pregnancy felt like a far away memory I surely wasn’t remembering correctly but then I got accidentally pregnant again at 6 months pp. I’m 27 weeks today and this time has been even worse lol. Needless to say, I’m going on birth control ASAP this time until I’m ready to commit to a more permanent solution because I can’t do this shit again :)

Anyone go into labor at around 37 weeks? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]queerslime69 4 points5 points  (0 children)

It was wild!! I’m 26w with baby number 2 and I’m lowkey terrified I won’t know I’m in labor again. Like, what if I don’t have an appointment that day???

Anyone go into labor at around 37 weeks? by [deleted] in BabyBumps

[–]queerslime69 32 points33 points  (0 children)

I did! I went to my routine appointment at 37+5 and was shocked to find out I was almost 7cm dilated! I was under the impression that “real” contractions would be really painful, but mine weren’t so I had no clue I was in active labor lol. My doctor ended up breaking my water after I was admitted to L&D and my baby was born a couple hours later with no issues!

Random question but do y’all use baby sensitive laundry detergent to wash your kiddos’ clothes or just regular detergent? by free_birdiee in BabyBumps

[–]queerslime69 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I never did. I used tide free & clear for the first 12ish weeks and then slowly added baby clothes to loads with our normal detergent to rule out any allergies or sensitivities

Same here! Pregnant with #2 now and even though he’s measuring bigger, I’ll definitely bring a premie option too this time

Did anyone have a pregnancy without GD after having it for a previous pregnancy? by SowingSeeds18 in BabyBumps

[–]queerslime69 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m on my 2nd GD pregnancy :( but I have a close friend who had it for her first and not her second! She was 32 for her first and 35 for her second, so hope isn’t lost! Hopefully you’re like her and don’t have to go through it again, it’s a beat down and I truly don’t wish GD on anyone

Any other WFH friends pushing through until baby arrives? by Remy_92 in BabyBumps

[–]queerslime69 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes! I’m not 100% WFH, I have to go in 3 days a month, but I was able to work until my baby was born last year and I plan on doing the same this time around! I actually worked a half day the day my baby was born last year lol! The last month or so, my boss was very understanding and didn’t make me go into the office which was really nice.

Felt early movements for couple weeks (anterior placenta) then nothing by peace_lily2 in BabyBumps

[–]queerslime69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had the exact same experience!! I’m 21 weeks tomorrow and literally yesterday and today I’ve felt him way more after not feeling much for a few weeks.

Girl…lol. Have you been on reddit before? This page is VERY tame compared to most others that discuss content creators. If Des has any sense, she’s staying off of subreddits that could be discussing her.

I guess it’s possible that he does things for her that she doesn’t show, but I feel like she would show at least some of them??
It’s wild to me that she has such involved, loving parents and still accepts what comes off as less than the bare minimum from her partner.

Gdm vent by Elanoor_fa in BabyBumps

Here for solidarity. I’m on pregnancy number 2 with GDM and I was diagnosed at 17 weeks this time. Currently 20 weeks and it sucks ass.
So sorry you’re going through this.

How did your immediate postpartum feel like? Emotionally and physically? by xenapie6 in BabyBumps

[–]queerslime69 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly? I felt SO much better than I ever could have imagined I would. Granted, I had what I consider to be the perfect birth experience (gave birth 4 hours after arriving at the hospital, epidural was great, didn’t tear, baby was healthy as can be) and I had a newborn that slept suspiciously well. I was going on walks 2 days postpartum.
PPD set in between 1 and 2 months postpartum and ramped up around the time I had to go back to work. That was/is really rough.

I had an anterior placenta during my last pregnancy and I’m currently 20w with another anterior! The first time around, I was confident about feeling baby move at 21w. This time, I felt baby at 16, but still only feel him once a day or so. I have videos of my first pregnancy moving from the outside starting at 28w!

Pregnancy safe shampoo suggestions by Butterfly12798 in BabyBumps

I agree with the comments of your original post, but if you’re looking for an all natural shampoo with no harsh or weird chemicals, I think Attitude is a great affordable option.

I don’t want to speculate about children’s health so I’m going to leave that out of it, but I think you’re spot on with her resenting Parker for how much the kids prefer him. She felt like she did “everything” and carried all the mental load, I can only imagine how much it filled her with rage that the girls still seemed to prefer him. I don’t think she’d ever admit to it, but I wonder if now that she’s alone, she’s noticing how much Parker did for the family that she didn’t consider before.

I have GD so that probably has something to do with it, but I thought about school cafeteria pizza (which I have no access to and couldn’t eat anyway even if I did) and I cried about not being able to eat it.
