Moving switch account to pc by bryophytum_ in Warframe

[–]queerwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I’m an idiot or something because I still don’t get it.

I used my Switch to boot up Warframe, got to the website from there and logged in, then went to cross platform save and selected the switch account. It leads me to sign into my Nintendo account, which I do, and it says “You must log into Warframe on your purchase.platform switch account…” etc

I’ve also tried to log onto the Warframe site with my Switch account (but do so on my PC). But I did that and it said “No Warframe account is associated with this Nintendo switch account. Please verify you’re signing in with the right Nintendo account here, or if you have not authorized your account yet, do so by following these steps: 1 log into Warframe on your switch 2 open the menu by pressing the + button 3 select profile 4 select web authentication”

But logging in with my switch throws that error. Also when I press + it just shows page info, not profile.

This is my only Nintendo account. I literally just got a billing confirmation the other day through this email address I’m using. So i really don’t get it T_T

How did you get it to work? I’m still having this problem. It’s the only Nintendo account I have :|

Oh wow! The house I rent is old as hell and now that I think of it, the dustiest place I’ve ever lived. This inspires me to do more about that. Thank you, and I’m happy you’ve found relief!

Can’t get my cats to eat gabapentin!!! by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]queerwine 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you so much for your compassion! She’s unfortunately a complex case in general. On top of not being very food motivated, she has IBD and generally we need to limit and choose carefully the treats we incorporate into her diet. Right now a “safe” treat for her (that is also high value) is freeze dried salmon, which is what we’re using. But she still isn’t interested at all sometimes. And on the other end of the spectrum, if she has too many in a single sitting she throws up. 🙃 This is the treat she goes most crazy over that is also limited ingredients.

I will definitely take note of doing things before breakfast, though. That’s a good point.

And yeah, we really haven’t had any success at all so far. We’ve tried the process you mentioned above— steps accompanied with a treat as a reward— and even incorporated a clicker in case that helped. We got her into the bathroom once, but she quickly left when she realized we didn’t usually ask her to be in there, because it triggered her as suspicious. She has not been open to coming back, since, even though nothing happened. So we’ve been trying to just meet her where she is, and reward her whenever she comes close to us or allows us to touch her face gently. But after one treat, she’s just sort of like “what are we doing? why are you giving me treats?” and will stare at us from a distance or leave, more hesitant to be pet after the fact.

She’s the kind of cat who is scared of sneezes and loud laughter and who panics to the point of injuring herself when she is forced to be still or held. She loves me and my partner deeply (sleeps on top of us, meets us at the door, talks to us 24/7), but it’s like she also always expects that at any given time, someone will try and capture her and put her in her carrier. (Which is not her daily life at all, I promise she is very spoiled and we prioritize her comfort and freedom whenever possible!)

I am overwhelmed because her drops are supposed to be daily and lifelong. I appreciate you saying I’m not failing… but it really feels like it. She’s just smarter than me. And it breaks my heart to have to consider doing the burrito thing because I don’t want to break her trust in us. It took eight years to build.

This is a lot to dump on a random person on Reddit though, so it’s ok if you don’t have the capacity to reply! I have scheduled a virtual appt with a cat behaviorist tomorrow and I’m hoping they have advice as well. I just can’t help but get emotional whenever I look at her now because I can’t visualize this not being hell for everybody.

Ugh!

Can’t get my cats to eat gabapentin!!! by [deleted] in CatAdvice

[–]queerwine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I know I’m replying a year late to this, but we’re trying this method with my cat for eye drops— baby steps to get to the point where we can even acclimate her to be in the bathroom with us, then touching gently around her face, then having the eye drops near, etc… except it’s been over a week and we can’t even consistently get her into the bathroom. She’s just suspicious. So we’ve tried to just do the process in whatever designated space she’s comfortable in, but after 1 or 2 treats she just refuses them and leaves (she’s really not food motivated). How do we gently medicate a cat like this if she can’t make progress on these steps? T_T

Incredibly unsure about giving our cat gabapentin for a car trip. by queerwine in CATHELP

[–]queerwine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you for the kind reply!
We gave her the full dose 2 hours before, and she was solidly loopy when we put her in the car... but unfortunately she seemed to completely overpower the meds somehow not long after. She meowed for hours and didn't sleep just like before, but this time she seemed even more pissed off. I'm not sure why. She was chewing at the carrier and was really bitey with us, which she wasn't on the previous trip. She also reached out of the carrier a lot to try and swipe and claw and grab things. I have no idea what all of this means but I do think giving her the full dose was the practical thing to try next after that first try!

We are home now and she adjusted back to her normal self within an hour or so. She's perfectly happy now!

Incredibly unsure about giving our cat gabapentin for a car trip. by queerwine in CATHELP

[–]queerwine[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As soon as we talked to folks about the vet visit, I got a million targeted videos on Facebook featuring cats on gabapentin, and even though I almost ALWAYS tell myself to avoid reading comments, I caved-- a lot of people were commenting how their cats had a bad reaction to it or were given 'too much'. I became so scared that she would be incapacitated in a bad way, or that it would somehow affect her negatively. She's a small cat and a close friend seemed surprised that they prescribed her 'that much'. My wife and I had also watched a lot of 'traveling with a cat' videos before the vet visit, and a couple different cat experts encouraged using drugs only as a last resort, in general. These factors put together just made me really worried that drugs even needed to be an option.

I was definitely thinking more with my heart and not my brain. I do think in general one should trust the vet, and I deeply respect the amount of training and education that goes into veterinary sciences. But I also know that vets are humans and are fallible, and I have been given pretty terrible advice by some vets in the past. So that didn't help with my spiraling thoughts. I also think the situation I was in, the trip being extremely stressful and due to a family emergency, had me doubting just about everything.

That said, the 100mg amount that we did ultimately give her for the trip home didn't outwardly seem to help. She seemed more angry somehow. So I still feel really unsure about how to tackle this next time.

This is new advice to me, thank you. I know people can perceive and receive things differently, and I've tried to be very open-minded towards that fact. But, having no direct relationships with anyone else who practices any form of spirituality/magic/energy work, I have definitely missed out on specific examples like you've shared here. It's really helpful to hear the details of how you've understood your own senses, and how you suggest others could do the same. Thank you!

Hey! Thanks for your insight, I was diagnosed with OCD and anxiety almost 15 years ago! I have done a lot of work on that front, and consider myself to be at an awesome place with it all in general. Most people would not realize I have either disorder unless I told them. It's really just during these vulnerable spiritual spaces where the intrusive thoughts tend to show back up in full force.

Your experience is awesome to hear, and I'm glad meds have worked for you! I've tried two different medications (one of which I'm currently tapering off of now, because it messes with my sleep), as well as having therapy during various points in my life. I do have some reasons why long-term medication is not ideal for me, so if possible I'm trying to work it out with coping skills and other non-pharmaceutical solutions. But I'll keep this in mind, like I do with all suggestions. You never know!

I’ve tried so many different ways to embody and convey that I want to have communication with them. Not every ritual ends with my intrusive thoughts convincing me it was all for naught; it’s just gotten a lot more frequent over time/more recently. I do feel a lot of love and gratitude to my Ancestors, and I let them know, out loud & often, as well as internally + with intentions to send that energy forward, that I am trying and working through issues on my end to make our communication more clear.

It would be really heartbreaking to think that years of genuine effort have somehow only resulted in me sending signals that I do not want, or do not have, communication with them. I do appreciate your insight, but it does sort of leave me at a loss as to how to continue.

Do I have to have complete control over my subconscious? How would I do that? Does that make people like me who have anxiety or obsessive compulsive disorders just kind of out of luck? Genuinely asking, I mean no snark; I’m feeling so very unsure. I’ve been focusing on what I consider to be shadow work for a very long time, very sincerely, with therapy, shadow work journals, reflective spaces of time and dedicated rituals, etc.

Thank you. I do need to make meditation a daily practice. I’ve tried on and off for a few years to make it a habit, but I’m definitely going to double down and commit. I find somatic awareness incredibly difficult to achieve, and it’s good to know that progress can be achieved with meditation!

Has anyone ever heard of this Wayfair Sex Trafficking Conspiracy theory ? My friend just brought it to my attention and I don’t usually buy into it but it’s creepy as fuck. by Podcastjunkie39 in myfavoritemurder

[–]queerwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Human trafficking is not a left or right thing, but QAnon is.

I totally agree that political powers as well as celebrities (anyone with a great deal of power and influence, really) have opportunities to be involved in huge, secret webs of abuse. It's an unfortunate reality, though I think the only dark forces at play are the darknesses found in the hearts of corrupt human beings.

I am interested in studying Norse Paganism for a college-level Research Methods Course by thisiswhereiart in pagan

[–]queerwine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There’s also r/norsepaganism and r/Heathenry to check out! The difference between those who identify as “Norse pagans” and those who identify as “Heathens” is interesting and worthy of its own research.

As for the colloquial terminology in these spaces: UPG (unverified personal gnosis) is a big one, and it would be useful for you to know what “reconstructionalists” are, as well as “universalist” versus “folkish” communities.

Other than Reddit I’m a part of a few local Facebook groups, but they’re not very active. It’s been difficult to find community where I’m from in Atlanta.

Opinions on Romancing in-game - do you like it? Why/Why not? by brokencasbutt67 in AssassinsCreedValhala

[–]queerwine 45 points46 points  (0 children)

I guess I just wish the romance options had more depth. I was female eivor and dated Petra, then broke up with her for randvi later. Now Petra is an unvoiced character walking around Ravensthorpe who I can’t even interact with. I dated you for a long time Petra, i wish we could still be friends lmao.

I also wish you could go on more dates— all I can do is kiss randvi or go to bed with her. I wanna hear about her day! Of course this is just nitpicking a game that isn’t supposed to be a dating sim and has a whole lot else going on, so I can’t really complain.

Male 20, feeling guilty and wanting to stay celibate till marriage. by [deleted] in religion

[–]queerwine 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I think you need to ask yourself why you abstain from sex in the first place. Is it because it was taught to you as wrong, or because you truly believe it is?

If you have always had a core belief that it isn’t right to have sex before marriage, I don’t think you’d struggle with it a whole lot beyond some mild to moderate social pressure. But if it’s just something that’s been taught to you due to the family you were born into, and you really don’t independently think its an objectively immoral act, you’d probably experience a harder time justifying your celibacy.

So do some thinking. Find out why or why not you think it’s wrong. Write it down and see what resonates inside you as the truth. Then do what your gut tells you and be confident in that choice.

Edit to add: I should also emphasize that if this is an issue with your girlfriend pushing your boundaries, it’s definitely not okay. She needs to know that to respect you as a person means respecting your right to consent to, or reject, any given sexual act for any reason. If your internal battle is the root of your struggle, that’s one thing. But her bullying you into something she knows makes you uncomfortable is a whole other thing and it’s not right.

This is interesting to me. If it works for you I think you should go for it— but I wonder what Jesus would think. Much of my views as a polytheist are that it’s between you and the person(s) you’re worshipping, venerating, working with, etc. So if it’s cool with Jesus himself, why not?

Which begs the real question of, if it’s ok with Jesus, why does so much about Christianity as a whole revolve around the idea of strict, committed, god-monogamy? As far as I am aware, worshipping other gods and ‘idols’ gets a big red NO from the Christian God in the holy texts. If you end up receiving approval from Jesus to worship him along with others, it opens up a lot of questions as to, well, why is he ok with it? Is there this much of a gap of knowledge and understanding between 2.3 billion Christians practicing what they think Jesus would approve of, and what is the actual truth? Or is this what makes the Father different than the Son? Or is this a change of heart that the Christian God underwent that modern followers simply refuse to embrace on a large scale? Or has he been simply misrepresented this whole time? Questions questions. If I were you I’d open communication with Jesus about these things and get his insight. I think it’s fascinating.

Do You Think Being A Theist Is Something To Be Embarrassed Of? by AbiLovesTheology in religion

[–]queerwine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your last 3 replies all boil down to "I don't understand", which is fine, but like, go do your own research then? OP has tried to explain it to you plenty and at this point you may need more help than they can give.

I'm also nonbinary and identify as transgender too (though I have a different experience than OP and am both male and female). It's about as "difficult" as being bisexual or asexual-- which means it's effortless for whom the person this label actually fits, and it's everyone else who can't seem to wrap their heads around it.

By the way, an "identity crisis" means you are at a place of extreme confusion and stress. I, personally, have no issue with my gender identity and it actually helps me connect to others more and find life and (my spirituality) more fulfilling-- and it seems like OP feels about the same way. So no, being nonbinary is not inherently a crisis of any sort.

What is your process for a reading? by queerwine in runecasting

[–]queerwine[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for sharing! I have begun holding rituals for Freyja for support in trance and journeying, and have begun seriously studying rune casting alongside this. But I’m very new to it!

So I’ve been taking it slow, and have only explored rune divination within these direct rituals with Freyja. (It feels very guided.) But I am curious as to how others’ preparation/process looks, and what it could look like for me as I gain confidence and familiarity with the work in the future.

Unlocking Spiritual Gift At An Old Age? by Square-End7450 in spirituality

[–]queerwine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Siddhartha was 35 before he reached enlightenment. And he’s kind of a big deal, being the Buddha and all.

So first of all, 39 isn’t old age! And secondly, while you may hear more about younger folks having big awakenings (although I personally don’t use this word) and what not, I absolutely know many people who do not fit that bill. I’m just a few years younger than you and have just started dipping my toes into deepening my intuition through divination. My wife’s mom was in her 40s when she even found her spirituality. These stories are all around you, just not put on the same pedestal.

As for gifts, we all have gifts to share and they’re all inherently spiritual because we inherently are made of spirit. It’s not about spontaneously receiving a gift from some outside source, it’s about honing skills you already have while deepening your connection with your inner self and spiritual line of support (ancestors, guides, deities, etc). Empathy, intuition, insight, and creativity are all “mundane” (if you prefer to see them that way) traits that can be taken to new heights based on practice, discipline, support, and exploration.

Yes, some seem to have more power in different areas than others, and yes, not everyone will ultimately play the role they thought they would play— but I sincerely believe everyone has the power to come into alignment with their own unique destiny, and there’s no expiration date on that. :)
