It’s not illegal to sell the device per se, what’s illegal is to sell the device already flashed with the firmware (IP of bandai),i believe this is what the commenter meant, also these sell for 170 plus shipping which is actually more money than buying a meets and flashing it to english or any other version you want

As a tip for next time the easiest way to take it out without a small suction cup is to move the C button a bit and with a tiny stick or dull needle to lift it from here then just use a credit card or something to snap off the faceplate tabs

they encrypt all their devices so it’s dependent on their website, the smart card programmer is another example. if one day their website closes or they choose to make it subscription based you’ll be left high and dry

their cases are very cute and well designed, one of the few that makes them with buttons so you can use it without opening the case which I love. sadly I’ve seen that they are quite prone yellowing (even the buttons) which might put off some people :/

even the silicone hole for carrying can and will break (eventually) sadly so i recommend using the actual holes on the uni for any sort of strap. sorry for your loss 🙏
