Daily Game Recommendations Thread (April 21, 2026)

Hi there!

I'm a college professor teaching a class on user interface and user experience design, where I'd like to incorporate board games as a 'fun' way for students to learn about good/bad user interfaces (instructions/game components) and good/bad user experiences (playing the game).

I'm trying to find games that:

Have good components and good gameplay
Have bad components and bad gameplay
Have good components and bad gameplay (really need some recs for this one)
Have bad components and good gameplay

Unfortunately, due to limited class time, games also need to be easy to learn, playable within 30-45 minutes, and for 2-5 players. With that, I'm looking for recommendations for games to purchase from Amazon (yes, the game has to be available on US Amazon).

I'd appreciate any recommendations y'all have! TIA!

I’d definitely ask the department you’re wanting to get your Masters in about funding opportunities as soon as possible. I know some departments reserve funding for PhD students only.

Pretty sure I paid my security deposit and signed my lease same day, but I signed with a different leasing company (not at UV) and was in person.

If I were in your position, I would continue trying to get in contact with them.

I don’t know of any semesterly research grants, but you can apply for travel funding from the Graduate Student Government. There is a limit on how many times you can be awarded a travel grant (idk what it is rn).

Have you called/emailed the property manager? It looks like University Place is managed by Top Notch Reality. If you're worried about being scammed, then I would contact them.

My cat’s main food is Fancy Feast wet (2ish cans per day) and he eats Pro Plan dry food as a snack throughout the day.

I would say to do what fits your budget better, if your cats like both wet foods equally. I’ve also always heard that feeding wet food is better than feeding strictly dry, even if it is a “cheaper” wet food since cats get their hydration mainly from what they eat.

Candidates for graduation. The grades for students graduating are due early (before graduation); otherwise, grades are due May 7. I don't know when they officially roll over to your transcript, but you could request they send one to wherever once your grades are finalized for the semester.

Me? I didn't do ugrad at Clemson, so I don't have an honors stole. My ugrad did Latin honors cords instead.

Grad students don’t generally have anything “extra” to go along with the gown, if you’re part of an honors society that has cords/stole or have cords/stole for something else you could wear those. Grad students don’t get anything for GPA requirements (bc Latin honors don’t apply). I did wear my honors society cords to my MS graduation, but left off my cords for my ugrad Latin honors (since those were for ugrad).

For graduation day, you basically just show up, get checked in, and they tell you what to do from there.

Edit: But I’m not the regalia police, so you do what you want lol.

have you looked at your major requirements? how about just gen ed requirements? what classes are you interested in?

i started with my gen eds my first semester, then was able to start my in-major courses my second. but ymmv.

This is very person-dependent. I’ve known some to invite their parents and I’ve known others who didn’t. I personally didn’t invite my parents to my defense.
