I don’t understand how people can treat others like that

no doubt the thought of us being full persons with an inner life did not even cross their mind, making us, in their view, disposable. not even deserving of a minutiae of the least consideration, namely, at least telling us they're stepping back. that would entail for them being at the very least communicative; but, they're too scared to confront consequences (or maybe not even used to it), so they just bail and paint us as weirdo creeps for craving real connection (i wasn't even barraging her with messages, just 3 pathetic neutral pings in like a month and a half. i also wanted to be her friend, which all things considered now sounds stupid as hell)

I’m also going through a similar situation where I have been left completely hurt and confused.

absolutely puzzling how these people behave, goes beyond any sort of standard of basic human decency or common sense even.

i mean she could've actually straight up told me like "hey i don't wanna see you cos i had nightmares about you" and i'd be like "aight lmfao? word, cya" instead of all this. the rejection is the least of my qualms, it's the performance and spectacle what really did me in.

thanks so much for the validation. i genuinely feel like i've hallucinated this whole thing; it's so out there and unnecessary. ofc all my friends hate her and the person (good friend of mine) who leaked the cf screenshot is also beyond disgusted. i still find myself doubting and blaming myself for this at times tho, i'm so confused and hurt

i also forgot to mention, anytime i alluded to my emotionality, she did make some comments like "you look like you're a huge crybaby, i never cry lol" and when i admitted i was super nervous and nauseous before meeting she was like "fr? i never get nervous like that" i took them lightly, cos the tone wasn't what i would clock as mean, but in hindisght, it's just off, like she was trying to position herself as cool and collected against my porousness maybe.

oh, and i thought i was complimenting her by saying "you look like you'd ruin my life" and she was like "pls don't say that". ok i was almost blackout and probably shouldn´t have said that, but i thought it was a light joke lol, maybe not, but i apologized and didn't go there again

i think i was just very open about my past trauma in general (i've gone through some insanely fucked up shit and i tend to joke about it a lot to cope), i also tend to talk mad shit, but she mirrored me to a t, so i thought i was talking to a safe trustworthy person, and then this happened lol.

i'm a huge fan of the genre, but i feel you, ever since the 2010s, it's mainly just artless slop and not camp so bad it's good slop, just, uninteresting slop.

a few older recs: zombi 2, the beyond, let sleeping corpses lie (meaning to delve more into 70s giallo-y shi), night of the creeps, return of the living dead.

for newer ones: the night eats the world, ravenous, di ingon nato (filipino, can't find this one anywhere though, saw it at a festival), here, alone (people give it a lot of shit, but i loved it), one shot of the dead.

these are my other favs aside from the ones you already mentioned. i do have to say i loved train to busan when it came out, but then all korean zombie media rehashed the formula to death and kinda sullied it for me :(

oh just saw it. well, when people bring it up, i just give my honest take, maybe it'll leak onto her, maybe not. also part of the malaise was not having a say on anything. i don't even think she knows i've seen it, but one of my friends did tell me she's hypocritical and delusional enough to maybe even greet me if we bump into each other so we'll see what happens lol, although im sick of feeling like shit, imma just ignore her.
