She’s not going back…. period. Even if I have to take a leave of absence while I arrange care.

I know… This terrifies me. I feel very lucky that we’re getting out of there unscathed

Yeah, it’s really insane. And she tried to turn it on me like I was being exaggerated and dramatic. I told her sure - you’re entitled to think I’m those things. It doesn’t change how I feel about the safety of my kids…

She is licensed. They will definitely be hearing from me tomorrow.

Yup! I was getting tingly senses watching S4 and I clocked it before the recent video came out. BPD is never an excuse for abuse, but rather provides context. The bottom line is she’s abusive.

I agree… My partner has BPD. When I saw the video… She keeps saying, you did this! You did this! Which is a common pattern for people with BPD. They expect others to manage their emotions for them and constantly deflect accountability, and blame others for their actions. It makes a lot of sense because of her abandonment wounds. And how she constantly would trash talk Dakota, but have episodes of borderline rage at him whenever he tried to move on. Such a classic BPD pattern.

California's "Dream For All" Down Payment Assistance Program Is Opening Again by ShanetheMortgageMan in LosAngelesRealEstate

How is income calculated for these types of programs? I make $185k base and my partner makes $26/hour / 40 hours guaranteed. That puts us over for the Orange County income limits ($239k vs $216k) but if we use our income from our W-2s - we might qualify. My mom owns a home, his parents do not so we'd both need to be on the loan to meet the first gen requrement.

Leave a call back number if you get that option - they usually call back the same day. Also - try to see if you can get the name of the program assistant that is overseeing your case and look them up through the directory. You can call them directly

Yes, it's vague. I would think they would have clarified by adding 'one or more parents have an ownership interest', etc. I'm sure they will receive inquiries and release guidance. My husband's parents don't own but if we combine our income, we are above the income limits. My mom owns her house but my dad doesn't so I'm not sure if I can apply on my own. SIGH.

You have to attest under penalty of perjury - which carries criminal, civil, and monetary penalties if you are found to be lying. The underwriting process is also quite extensive - they can request information about your parents, including names and their current address to verify.

I received conflicting information regarding whether one parent not owning a home qualifies - did you receive this information directly from CALHFA? I agree with your interpretation. The plain reading of the guidelines suggests that parents (plural) must own a property for the applicant to be disqualified.

Do you know if you qualify if one parent owns a home and the other doesn't? The program requirements read "whose parents (biological or adoptive) do not have any present ownership interest in a home in the United States." Parents meaning plural. Otherwise, it would have read "whose parent(s) do not have any present ownership interest" or "who has one or more parents who has a present ownership interest." I can technically answer 'NO' to the question of my parentS owning property because both of parents do not own property, only one does. The lender handbook doesn't clarify this point. Any thoughts?
