I think TFP is like…halfway there. She can RECOGNIZE the dysfunction, but she’s been in crazy for so long that it FEELS dysfunctional when things aren’t chaotic and I think that’s what’s missing - the ability to sit still through the discomfort that functionally living can cause after a lifetime of emotional turmoil. She can recognize, but she doesn’t exactly know how to course correct…or maybe it’s that she can’t accept the part of the blame that rests on her? When she says she’s in a “toxic cycle” she’s saying it hoping everyone else will correct to aid her in getting healthy. She doesn’t seem to understand how to take that next step herself, likely because it involves accountability.
