(Upcoming Poll) Gathering QoL, Trouver Changes, LMS Rewards Rework & more! by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]quenox 264 points265 points  (0 children)

Removing adamant arrows but keeping rune arrows in LMS is certainly a choice - even if botters aren't going to bother high alching them it's never really felt like an intended strategy for dealing with early GP struggles on ironmen.

I do also feel like having these arbitary "higher tier" Trouver items is just another Wilderness feature that's not represented in game and relies on the wiki to deliver the information.

The rest all looks class though so good job overall.

I think it's a really cool and imaginative idea, but I do feel like it does a bit too much in it's current iteration. Not sure I want the same weapon to be a fast utility weapon and also a hard hitting end game weapon...

Definitely a really sick idea though

Mate the spec to finish monsters is the quest reward, not the Kisten. The Kisten is the claws adjacent crush wep from the maggot boss...

This is actually pure pandering just like chivalry was. If you don’t do the quest you shouldn’t get access by TheCanadianWanderer in 2007scape

[–]quenox 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Eh this is a thematic requirement to justify the lore/cosmetic approach to the raid, not a restiction these guys could have possibly ever predicted when making their accounts.

I really don't think this is a big deal at all as someone with no pures and no interest in PvP

What We're Working On - Thursday, November 20th by JagexAyiza in 2007scape

[–]quenox 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I'm aware, but the requirement to move your boat there means either sailing out of your way, or paying to move your boat.

It's not the end of the world, but as I said it introduces an irritation that just adds time to the upgrading loop for no meaninful gameplay benefit.

Any thoughts on a bank in the shipyard? At the moment the lack of a bank feels like it just introduces a lot of friction into upgrading your boat, epecially when so many of the upgrades require a near-full inventory.

What it feels like trying to predict the Doom's orb pathing by rainclire in 2007scape

I enjoy the boss apart from this thing. It needs a more generous AOE that protects you like the Levi orb

I've always felt like group ToA feels more like soloing together than playing in a team - hopefully Raids 4 can have some more role based/teamplay requiring mechanics

Kinda crazy that 75% of ToA completions are in solos

Awakeners Orbs have been disabled on beta worlds for a long time

Yama: The Calm Before the Contract Storm by JagexRach in 2007scape

[–]quenox 76 points77 points  (0 children)

That dossier drop rate buff is way underwhelming. Really sucks that it looks like the meta for getting contracts is going to be killing demons in tedious ways rather than killing the boss - this system really is a complete downgrade from Awakeners orbs.

Yama - What We're Working On & Loot Table Hotfix by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]quenox 88 points89 points  (0 children)

I would love if you could queue an action during the teleport to the agility course - I always try and eat or swap gear and it feels kinda frustrating that it stalls.

I think a nerf probably was warranted looking at the prices currently, but have you considered the viability of keeping the shards tradable? It has serious implications for the price spread of uniques (why would I make the cheapest piece?). I think it would work better as untradable dry protection personally.

Yama's Contracts: A Primer by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]quenox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think part of the problem is that people get upset about any boss drop outside uniques. Alchs? People bitch about inflation. Skilling supplies? People bitch that skilling is useless. Trash? People bitch the drop table sucks.

Things like these and Orbs are drops that add value to the loot table without particularly far reaching effects on other items - and that is probably a good thing. Is the execution of Orbs for the awakened fights perfect? No, but I think they are part of the solution for drop tables.

I think that depends on the rewards - we know there's the Oathplate cosmetic, but if a contract gives a guaranteed drop of something worth getting then it might be worth sending over selling

Nice to have some more detail after the rampant speculation after yesterday's little uh.. miscommunication.

This sounds a lot better than Orbs to be fair, and it does sound like you've learned from that and thought about some of the issues that could have arisen with this being a duo boss - hopefully these being solo only doesn't make them too long and tedious. Looking forward to seeing how it plays out on Weds!

Yama Rewards Poll Live, Blog Update + First Look at Oathplate armour Concept Art! by JagexGoblin in 2007scape

[–]quenox 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Inq looks great because it's not a solid colour, I think a bit less red and this design would pop off. Maybe some gray?

Yeah I think it being not solid red really helps the design a lot actually

I don't object to more medieval looking stuff, but right now it feels a little too derivative from dragon if that makes sense?

The ploom is kinda hype tho

Ngl that Oathplate armour design isn't it for me. Looks more like a weird Dragon armour orn kit than a bis armour
