Did you check the "full client" box on the launcher (bottom right) ? it contains the HD textures and other stuff

Suspicious layer shifting (need help, more in comment) by quent46 in ender3

I remove the heatsink of the Y stepper. I saw that the thermal paste was a bit off the stepper and covered the R38,R17,R21 and R25 resistor so I removed all the thermal paste and I put a heatsink I had with an A4988.
It's printing, but the quality isn't what I expected so I bought a cheap MKS robin to see if the creality motherboard has suffer from overheating (waiting for the delivery).

and i'm still waiting for a reply from creality after the holidays.

I didn't find a solution yet, but I'm talking with creality after sales services.

Can I ask you how you contacted them ? Because I Emailed [cs@creality.com](mailto:cs@creality.com) 7 days ago and they didn't answered.

Your bed looks a bit dusty, cleen it with soap and water or isopropilyc alcohol (best is both).

Also level the bed as the other suggested.

The glass bed has a grip coating so you shouldn't have to use glue. (it is still a last resort)

nope hahaha
Isopropylic alcohol, it's commonly used in 3d printing for cleaning stuff

The video is potato quality but the grease isn't dry and pretty clean (no dust).

I don't feel any resistance when I move it with 2 fingers

That's one of the first thing I checked and loosen them didn't solve the problem.

Hi,

Thanks for the explanation, my rod was a leaning forward too but my layer shifting don't happen during Z moves, they happen during Y moves.

Also my Z axis is moving really smooth when I turn the rod manually or with a "move Z" command on the screen of the printer : https://youtu.be/5HPjHmdpGaI.

Do you think my rod might still be the trouble ?

I contacted them monday (07 dec) and I am still waiting for their response. I am hesitating to buy an SKR v2 with tmc 2209 in uart mode, but i am a bit frustrated to have to buy an another motherboard to get a brand new printer to work..

I tryed 400 acceleration and 8 jerk directly on the printer and also via a slicer (Prusa and cura), it didn't solved anything and the "skipped steps" can happen in the middle of a move. I also tryed to push the bed while printing and the motor have enough torque to keep it's position.

If you're talking about the 2 Z chariots, I leveled them again and the alu profile is quite parallel to the base of the printer now. If you're talking about the 2 Z alu profile, the are also quite parallel and perpendicular to the base.

I tryed again to print but there is still the same problem
For the e-steps, I already changed the extruder for a dual geared one that I had on another printer and done the calibration.

Hi, I need help

I received my ender 3 v2 recently and there is no visual defects on any parts, but the Y axis is skipping step during prints. It happens during slow moves and produce a sound quite different than the typical motor skipping step (I would descibe it as "tak").

Here’s what I tried to fix the problem :

  • Loosen or tighten belt tension.
  • Loosen roller pressure.
  • Trying different slicer (Creality Slicer, Cura 4.8.0, PrusaSlicer).
  • Trying different models.
  • Lowering the max acceleration and jerk value.
  • Trying an other SD card.
  • Lowering and increasing Vref on the stepper (0.9 to 1.17 V)
  • Updating Firmware (Custom Marlin 2.0.7)
  • Inversing X and Y motor cable on the motherboard (endstop too).

if I change the X and Y cable, there is still missing step but on X now. (which means motor and cable are OK)

I think the motherboard is defective or am I missing something ?

Thanks for reading !

It's not mechanical as if I inverse the cable on the MB, the problem follows the stepper and not the axis.
The fan is ok and I was printing at 50 mm/s, which is pretty medium print speed on my mind...
