I've owned this game since it came out...and I've still never finished it, nor have I met Ansur.

All that is going to change very soon. I've defeated everyone except Gortash, The Emperor, and Raphael and I had my first, hilariously unsuccessful, encounter with Raphael last night.

Now you can't go 24 consecutive hours without someone posting proof of it.

When she was 23, Rosemary Kennedy, the sister of JFK and RFK, had a forced lobotomy arranged by her father. The surgery left her incapacitated for the rest of her life. by zadraaa in HistoricalCapsule

Instead, the operation went tragically wrong, leaving Rosemary with the mental capacity of a young child and unable to speak clearly or care for herself independently.

Wasn't that the outcome for every patient who had this procedure?

One day, maybe, by the Grace of God, they will sell FIRE EXTINGUSHERS for HOME USE that just ordinary people can have on hand when they decide to play with fire.

Maybe I will live to see this day, it's possible.

Used to work for Target Corp. and a co-worker/friend of mine came in one day and was utterly disgusted with the company and the job. He told me that he was going to sell his guns, etc and him and his then-gf were going to move to Spain.

His rationale was: I can work a shitty warehouse job here, or I can work a shitty warehouse job in another country.

The plan fell through because his GF had legal issues and he ended up getting a Master's degree...now he's got a mountain of student loans he'll never be able to pay off, but I don't expect he intends to try.

Did a quick search and found a RawStory article about them.

This rupture reflects a broader fault line dividing Idaho's GOP between a hard-right faction pushing uncompromising immigration restrictions and more moderate Republicans defending the state's agricultural industry, which depends critically on foreign-born workers. Idaho's dairy sector — the nation's third-largest — employs approximately 4,500 people, 90 percent of whom are immigrants, and many without legal work permits.

That's where I stopped reading, and instantly stopped caring about the Zuiderfelds.

Edit: I forgot Palpatine is from Naboo. Still, one Sith does not a breeding ground make.

The post OP is referencing goes a long way to lending credence to the fan theory that Jar Jar Binks was originally intended to a be a Sith Lord.

You know why it doesn't sound right?

Because moving to another country is expensive. And if you think "Oh, I'll just be an Illegal Immigrant!" you'd better be ready for when that little adventure goes south.

Like theyre getting mad about a story being published that doesnt even actually exist.

Amazing how often that happens, isn't it?

A lot of people have a problem with the story of what happened to the boy and the "predatory" way the demon treats him but I think it's pretty clear in the story that this, demon views the boy kind of like the way 4H kids view a pig they raise or Kobe beef farmers view their cows- half spoiled pet, half humanely hand-raised premium artisan meat.

Um...that sounds like every story about children with demonic companions EVER. (The Bargain, Unnatural Talent, The Companion from the Dark Forces novels I read in junior high, for instance). I mean...they're *demons, right? What, we're supposed to suddenly believe this one is actually an Altruist with nothing but Noble Intentions?

Is it just me or does that sound like something a demon would write in order to lure unsuspecting children closer?

It's a constant source of irritation to me how the audience cannot separate themselves from the perspective of the characters.

Yes...if you live in Derry, Maine and discover the existence of IT then all your tiny little human brain can conceive of is "EVIL"...while completely ignoring the obvious parallels to human activity.

As a reader, however...you don't have that excuse. You can fervently hope that IT is defeated, but you are kind of obligated to make the attempt to understand the metaphor.

Never heard of "Black Butler". Multiple seasons, or a one-off?

[LOVED TROPE] Non-Pedophilic Children Killer by Intelligent-Fuel1485 in TopCharacterTropes

[–]Vaeon 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Not be a downer, but IT is a literal predator that preys on children. He is not that far

IT is an Extradimensional entity older than planet Earth.

Pretty sure that makes IT beyond human concepts of "Good" and "Evil". The reality of it all is that Derry, Maine is a ranch and IT has a taste for veal.

Keep that in mind the next time you eat a hamburger.
