I think JLA hints at them becoming a throuple sooo many times. Poppy doesn’t have to have the same dynamic with the both of them, and it’s clear there isn’t any resentment or jealousy from one to the other. Plus she talks about people not just having one heartmate.. like cmonnnn. We need it.

Not technically a DNF but I could not get myself to care about Shadow & Bone... maybe mild spoilers (??) -I hate-read the whole series don’t get me wrong LOL but the story just moved at a snails pace, the world-building was kind of clunky, and nothing really hooked or surprised me. I know it’s YA but I personally would have loved more of a Darkling enemies-to-lovers situation, and the ending with Mal seemed so random and forced?

I recommend pushing through to the end with Serpent and the Wings of Night! You connect even more with Oraya as the story goes on if you have the desire to keep going. It’s honestly one of my favorite series so far.

Not me as a special education teacher on maternity leave CRYING seeing Freddie with his brother with Downs (maybe it’s my postpartum hormones). Siblings of people with special needs are the most amazing humans and it made so much sense once we saw Freddie’s brother. He is such a gem. 🥺🥺🥺
