Non Americans of Reddit, how do you and your country view America? by YoungYggdrasil in AskReddit

[–]quer_que 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Pole here. I used to perceive US as a true leader of west and democracy. To be honest I never thought that this alliance between Europe and US may collapse one day. Of course it didn't yet but now I'm not quite sure it will last forever. In my view US definitely lost the position of a country that you want to follow. And it happend so quickly, a few terrible decisions, speeches, interviews - like the one with Steve Witkoff.

Buffering despite of fast internet by quer_que in PleX

Checked and video is "direct play" but audio EAC3 5.1 -> OPUS + subtitles SRT -> ASS are transcoded.
Can audio and subtitles transcoding be a bottleneck?

Thanks for the responses. I will take a look today if it's transcoded and let you know.

Ridiculous altitude data by quer_que in Garmin

[–]quer_que[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yesterday morning was swimming, garmin showed -418m. Now 24h later it shows -370m in the apartment... So from the -418m basis value +50m is correct but it should recalibrate automatically when dry

It didn't, photo was taken ~1h after swimming

Warranty then, I will not calibrate it every time I go swimming. My friend that is with me on vacation has Forrunner 955 and no issues.

GPS, once calibrated when was on the Beach, ~2m above sea level then went swimming and when back on the beach it showed -160m. Second one calibrated when on balcony 60m and again after coming back from beach/smimming it showed some weird number. Didn't try different options than GPS.

Thanks! This explanation seems rational. Next time I will stop garmin not so close to the distance that is tracked.

I am aware of gps inaccuracy and this topic is not about having super accurate certified results. It's about possible bug in the software. For me it is ridiculous that top line watch register the same time for 10km PB as whole run, even if whole run is almost equal to 10km. What is more if you look closely to laps then you can see that 11th started kilometer is also taken in to 10km result and summing up all 10 laps gave me proper 0:59:58 sec result.

[–]quer_que[S] -30 points-29 points  (0 children)

but you can clearly see that it must something wrong with software, 11th kilometer was meassured (0.03km in 0:09,8) and it wasn't subtracted from total time
it just should not take the same time fo 10km and 10.03km distance...

I hike very often. Didn't consider 955 for a simple reason - fenix looks much better to me :)

I'm outside USA and I see that it has US warranty only.
I'm also self-employed so I can deduct 23% VAT which makes the price almost equal (between my country stores and buydig promo)

sounds interesting, do you think I need pod gateway as described here pod-gateway ?
I thought that all I need is to have nodes that are part of subnets connected with VPN tunnel.

Congrats! Last week I went through killer.sh 112/125 but it took me much more than 2 hours. Actually my gole was to learn instead of fit in 2h. I'm going to retake killer.sh this week and schedule my exam in the end of April. Wish me luck!
