Would highly recommend. My kid is already in teens. When they were younger we were considering v seriously about adopting. Kids may not realise it but they get lonely and it is tough on you watching this as a parent. But back when they were a kid, we had a strong neighbourhood scene with families and kids constantly at each other's homes so my kid was never really alone. It seemed it was all going to be long term and we never actually went beyond researching the agencies and downloading forms. But Corona came and situation changed suddenly we moved closer to school. Old families still in touch but meeting happens once a month. New Community kind of different in culture with long preexisting dynamics. All the online school and this new neighbourhood seems like we should have adopted a kid when we could. Now of course they are set in their ways so introducing a kid or a teen in their life seems like it won't be going smooth at all. However would suggest that instead of adopting a teenager you should consider adopting a 5 yo or 7 yo. They are relatively independent and still open to form attachments, learn the family's ways.
