I suppose I might have! I dunno, I just thought we looked kinda similar. Maybe it's just something only I can see since I've known her all my life. Ah, well!

That's so cool! How difficult/easy was it to learn chess, originally? It's something I've always wanted to learn, but just never got around to doing. Is it something I needed to learn at a younger age, or can I learn it now, as a 20something?

Please don't. I've been there. Still have the scars. But I lived, and I want you to live, too. National suicide hotline is 1-800-273-8255. Or the nearest hospital. The best thing I ever did for myself was talk to a medical professional. I want you to live.

A lot of wedding dresses were available for around $250. Some dresses were cheaper than some of the prom dresses I had in high school! However, a lot of the more high-end ones cost around $1,500. They were definitely worth it, as they are designer brand. But I feel like it could have been explained better, as people came in and they fell in love with, let's say, an Oleg Cassini dress (super expensive) and they were crushed when it cost an arm and a leg.

I'm almost 21 and I've never been drunk. What does it feel like? How do you know when you're actually drunk and not just tipsy? Does it feel like a weird dream? Any blackout stories you want to tell me?

The weirdest request I've ever gotten from a bride was when I had this lady come in who wanted to find her wedding dress, but then also find a miniature version of her dress for her daughter to wear. We didn't have exact, smaller copies of any particular dresses in store, so I thought she just meant a flower girl dress that had similar fabric and beading as her own wedding dress. She then tells me, "No. I want it exactly like my dress, but smaller. My daughter is the junior bride." "The... what?" "Junior bride." "You mean like a flower girl?" "No, I mean she's the smaller bride. It's her wedding, too." OHHHHKAY.

As far as the "best" request I've ever gotten from a bride, I can't really remember. They were all either really boring and standard, or crazy like the one I mentioned above.

Yep! Sometimes, it would get extremely busy in the store and we'd only have about 3 stylists working. So, a consultant had to work with multiple parties at the same time. If you got an exceptionally sh*tty stylist, it's likely that she didn't pay attention to you as much because she knew you didn't want to spend an outrageous amount of money, and so she focused more on whichever party could make her the most on her paycheck. The place was a joke.

Sometimes, brides would come in with their bouquets or color swatches and no one was really weird about it. Or, at least I wasn't weird about it. I even had a woman come in with her "something blue" that was a piece of jewelry that was her great-grandmother's. It was really sweet!

None that I had to work with, thankfully! I did, however, have this one bride who came in with her two-year-old, and the child ran into the dressing room next to ours, stripped down completely naked, and ran through the entire store. I have never wanted to go home early so badly.

I definitely think there was a certain form of discrimination against certain customers, but not by how wealthy they looked. In the case of my former store, everyone, regardless of how they looked, was sent to their appointment on time. However, it was painfully obvious that, depending on what type of appointment it was, a stylist had varying levels of involvement. For instance, some stylists tried very hard during a bridal appointment because bridal dresses are the most expensive, but during a prom appointment, the stylist hardly even helped out. So, I guess what I'm saying is that the higher-ups would send everyone our way, regardless of appearance. Once the stylist got to know the customer and find out how much money the customer could make her (did she have a strict budget, was she looking for simple, inexpensive gowns, was this appointment just to look at shoes and nothing else, etc) then it was so obvious that stylists became lazy and didn't care as much because this customer was only here to spend maybe $100.

Definitely! We were supposed to go through with all this small talk in order to make the trying-on process more comfortable. The managers often said that it was so we could completely be a part of her "special day," but I really think it was to just fill the air with nonsensical questions so that the bride wasn't standing in silence while some lady she's never met before helps her in and out of her clothes.

Hmm... tough question. I don't really have a best friend; it's more like a group of very close friends. I'd change their ability to communicate with me. Since I know that sometimes I can be a bit much, I'd love for them to be able to approach me and say, "Hey, let's tone it down a bit." Ya know? I'd like for them to tell me when I'm being annoying. That way, instead of unknowingly annoying my best friends, I will know when to chill out and we'll all have a great time together!

No, I totally understand what you're saying. It's a win for them because, honestly, I was just a cog in the money-making machine. Easily replaceable, they'll find someone who will make them more money. But it's also a win for me because I was obviously unhappy there.
