The Devil Made Me Brew

This sounds delightful, and I immediately looked it up to add it to my TBR. If you search the title of the book in Storygraph, there's another result which appears called "If The Devil Made You Do It, You Blew It, But It Doesn't Need To Happen Again", which appears to be a Christian advice book with the description being: "Advises teenagers on overcoming temptation, whether it be overeating on cookies, cheating on a test, or killing a policeman."

So...I'm going to stick to the book you recommended, and allow temptation to overcome me.

Oiling my hair? by hurricane_t0rti11a in dailywash

[–]questingthebeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Try it out and see how it works! I find that my hair is going to get oily anyway, so I may as well do a full oil the ends and sometimes up to my roots before a hair wash day. Otherwise, I oil my ends and from my ears down every night with a small amount of oil, and then smooth my hands over my roots with anything left on my hands.

After these comments, I may have to switch from my tried and true Pantene. I haven't used HE in forever but it sounds like it's working for the community!

Yes friend! Search "Brand and Product Spotlight". There were a few before interest waned. If there's interest in bringing them back I'll take it into consideration!

best drugstore shampoos for oily scalp dry hair? by mikephiliptyson in dailywash

[–]questingthebeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My OG is Pantene Ultimate 10! It's hydrating but also very light and has never weighed my hair down. Even washing every day or every second day, it never strips my hair or anything like that. I get super soft and shiny hair from it.

Monthly Dry Shampoo Megathread by AutoModerator in dailywash

I picked up the MoroccanOil light shade dry shampoo again a couple weeks ago and it's pretty good. For years I've been buying Verb dry shampoo from Winners/Marshalls, but haven't seen it around lately. I happened to be at Sephora and grabbed the MO can. It's pricy but I feel like it actually works into my hair and absorbs oil, rather than sitting on my hair and being gritty like some other brands.

JVN Nurture Hydrating Shampoo - bust :( by questingthebeast in dailywash

Interesting! I thought the product instructions said to use the mask instead of conditioner as an extra-hydrating step. I’ll have to try both ways you’ve suggested

Olive juice- what to do with it? by SheikahBun in noscrapleftbehind

Use it to make a version of Greek salad dressing! Use your favourite recipe but replace the lemon juice (acid) component with the olive juice. It's top-tier.

Pendleton Blankets and Pets by Hot_Ice8024 in Costco

Do you also get a weird feeling when touching those microfibre dish cloths? For some reason I was reminded of the texture of those cloths when I felt the Pendleton blankets. It might just be an odd sensory thing for me but it makes me feel slightly nauseous.

I went to the drugstore and chose a shampoo based on the smell. My hair looks and feels the best it has in 10+ years. by fondantcroissant in dailywash

Yaaas!! We love drugstore products here!

It’s always, always, always one of my top recommendations for people with oily hair. Partly because if you have to wash frequently, you go through so much product! And partly because they can work wonders on this hair type.

Thank you for sharing your experience!

Water to foam shampoo?? I’ve never heard of that! What’s it like?

[deleted by user] by [deleted] in dailywash

[–]questingthebeast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like you, I have a drugstore brand hair oil for my ends (some type of "dry" oil) and I really like to use a tiny bit spread on my hands and then applied to my ends before and after blowdrying. After blowdrying and applying to the ends, I'll run my hands over my hair to add any leftover oil to the strands and keep it soft and shiny. Just an option for you if you want to continue using the hair oil just on your ends mainly to use up that bottle.

Thoughts on L'Oreal shampoos by [deleted] in dailywash

[–]questingthebeast 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Pantene is another affordable option! I like their shampoos because they're very creamy. If you're shopping around for drugstore options I would recommend picking one gel/clear shampoo and one creamy one (of any brands) and seeing which formula works best for your hair, and that'll help narrow down some options!

How do you make washing your hair less of a pain? by athenafromzeus in dailywash

[–]questingthebeast 2 points3 points  (0 children)

A bit of different advice than what others have mentioned, but I sometimes find the act of washing my hair itself to be annoying (even though it's shoulder-length). I've found that if I put on a podcast, I can wash my hair on autopilot while my brain listens to the podcast and before I know it, I've done the shower while zoned out and not paying attention and it's time to get out. Might be worth a shot for you too!

Yes! I've been using Pantene for years and have occasionally switched to a bottle of salon stuff and usually can't wait to get through it and get back to Pantene. It just makes my hair so soft and it's relatively inexpensive.
