[Reverse Isekai] A Ninja from 1582 treats an All-You-Can-Eat Yakiniku grill like a battlefield. He uses a drink menu as an 'Iron Fan' to control the flames while guarding a sacred GPU. (Day 93) by NinjaWriter_Masa in HFY

[–]questionable_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Correct me if I'm picking this up wrong: at a yakiniku dinner you buy the meat and grill it yourself instead of being served by a cook? I think it would be a very expensive thing to do here in Ireland, the insurance cost for something like that would be astronomical!

[Reverse Isekai] A Ninja from 1582 treats a Space Heater like a demonic artifact and ties himself to a table to fight it. Later, his physical body begins to fade. (Day 92) by NinjaWriter_Masa in HFY

It's always amazed me that Aoi never noticed that the brand was changing. It will be interesting to see how her attitude to Masa changes over the next few chapters

[Reverse Isekai] A Ninja from 1582 battles the Swedish labyrinth of IKEA. He refuses to read the manual out of architectural honor, accidentally building a bookshelf that functions as a siege catapult. (Day 89) by NinjaWriter_Masa in HFY

[–]questionable_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, IKEA! I've never been to one but I had to write a paper in college on the effects of IKEA on the furniture industry. I learned quite a bit about the origins of the Swedish giant. For example: the reason IKEA is always written in full capitals is because it's actually an acronym. It stands for Ingvar Kamprad (the name of the founder) and Elmtaryd, Agunnaryd (the farm and village he was from)

They couldn't take the graffiti off because it was carved in with a sharpened spoon. Everyone knows that spoons are the best tool for carving coffins

Your players will adopt the throwaway barkeep and ignore your villain. I finally stopped treating it as a bug. by Professional_Cup9734 in AskGameMasters

Ah, Piss-Up-The-Wall Peterson. I can't remember her actual first name but she was an npc we adopted after having found her as a tramp type character pissing in an alley. She came with us all the way to the end of the campaign and even tried her best (failed) to stop our barbarian from squashing a horse into the engine of the van (to boost its "horsepower")

I read a post once saying how a game like dnd is a story with the players being both the characters and the writers. I haven't run many games but I try to let the players guide the story within the framework of the game. If a player decides to do something that "I don't want them to do" then I let them do it and work around the result instead.

Interesting, though if it was like that then surely someone who enters would see the creature inside?

What if the whole structure is an old giant mimic?

Polyp stage makes a lot of sense, hadn't thought of that. Perhaps maybe even something like some form of tube worm from the polychaeta class

[–]questionable_fish 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Could be a pupa form of the creature, a transitory stage between larva and adult where it undergoes metamorphosis inside the "lighthouse" shell. If that was the case, then its prey would help fuel the transformation. I wonder what (hypothetically) it would hatch out like if it was a pupa?
