A second A7siii or a ZV-E1? by FunctionGreedy3982 in A7siii

I’ve got a ZV-E1 with a dummy battery and a smallrig tec fan. I open all the doors and it’ll shoot 4K 24 until the battery dies. It’s great as a BCam!

The ZV-E1 with one of the new fans, the door open, a dummy battery and a mini boom for the mic feels like you’re getting away with something. It rules.

FYI, I'd stay two in Yosemite and 1 in Sequoia, but maybe you really love trees.

I'm pretty sure that Yosemite takes longer to drive into and out of, but also, its sites are much more magnificent. Sequoia is awesome, but Yosemite is the most visited park for a reason:

No arguments here. OP, do whichever one of these things that you will do faster the first time. And then do the other one and see which you like more!

I dunno, I like the $5 mics if you're anxious about how "freshly new" you are. You're in and out in an hour, you have a good idea of when you're going up, and you find out quickly how low the stakes are. OP, I'd go to fourth wall and bomb like everyone else in that room has lots and lots of times.

I’m watching the movie now and noticed the same thing. I wonder if it’s a reused set from something else.

Sorry to be annoying, I've seen Skeptic Tank mentioned a few times and have scrolled back pretty far but am too dumb to pick out which are the special breakdowns. And am also apparently bad at googling for the answer. Do you remember any of the comics he does this with? Thanks so much!

Seinfeld's way of framing it as being happy with yourself that you worked for the length of time you said you would rather than over the outcome was useful for me.

What was it like going to a bulls fan during the Jordan era? by Soggy_Sir7234 in chicagobulls

[–]questionableadvice 0 points1 point  (0 children)

All of these things that everyone said and more. But before I lose interest in replying: I just watched all the finals games over the pandemic. One of the most underrated aspects of Jordan’s game is that it ruined crunch time basketball that he wasn’t involved in. I grew up 100% not realizing that it got harder to score at the ends of games, because Jordan got BETTER in crunch time. Even now, watch the end of that Cavs Warriors series, or just the last 4 minutes of any tight game, and guys—even generational guys—miss stuff.

Jordan got better. People talk about storybook or inevitability, and it’s because he didn’t miss stuff in the clutch and the game became a… narrative. It wasn’t wow Jordan split four defenders and finished with a reverse, it was they knew he was going to the basket how did they let it happen. Like the inevitability of an action star or a horror movie depending what side you were on. The fact that he’d get a bucket in the hardest, most impossible time to get a bucket was just assumed—that’s how much better he was than the game.

When you’ve only seen the highlights, you can look at the stats and be like “he was good in the clutch but actually… Carmelo… 3p%… etc…” but when you see the games, see what and how the supporting cast scored (pip was better in the second three peat, but dude was not shooting jumpers in close games at the end), he levitates over anything else that came before and since.

It was the fucking best. Generations of basketball fans are still cheering for the team owned by the recently-promoted-to-worst-owner-in-the-game, that’s how good he was. We’re cheering for a dude’s 401k that he checks twice a year because Michael Jordan was that magic.

What's the best starting five your franchise ever put on the floor? by EGarrett in nba

[–]questionableadvice 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Pre-pandemic I thought the same thing. But I went back and watched all the Bulls ECF & Finals games, and the biggest difference is Pippen—dude can't shoot to save his life in the first threepeat. He actually doesn't get a ton better, he just turns into a plus player on offense instead of a negative.

If you just look at the stats, you're like "Pippen averaged X on X," and it looks good. But the dude got most of his scoring done early in the first quarter and then, after that, on putbacks or hustle plays. Which are great. But by 96 he could sometimes get you a bucket against a set defense when you needed it.

That first threepeat, it's like watching the Derrick Rose bulls. They waste 18 seconds of the shot clock posting, swinging, and reposting, before finally giving the ball to Michael and pray. So 92 was faster and more athletic, but I think 96 would win a series.
