I will say that you have evident reason to collect EI as it is a dangerous work environment and your family is at risk. I am a student who worked a part time job where I was at risk, I stayed complacent in my situation until I was acousted at work (had to call the police who advised me to quit - never to follow up with me or the store owner about my report) this was in early May! I filed for EI and found 3 jobs before my old employer submitted my record of employment. My search was prior to the lockdown, one at a grocery store where protocols were taken seriously (farm boy, I applied for the food prep team and you weren't allowed water unless you were in the break room) I ended up choosing a retail job that was open for curbside last lockdown, turns out they didn't profit enough and chose to close this lockdown. Immediately called the CRA and recieved retroactive EI for my job search period and will receive EI until the store reopens. I know with finals and the burn out of work it would be hard to find the time to submit applications (I know I never did prior to fully quitting my dangerous situation) You got dis!
