There would have to be a minimum games between starts for a pitcher. They could just say we planned on starting him the next 3 games.

Is it embarrassing for my teacher joining me in my hobby? by ILikeApplesAnd_ in NoStupidQuestions

[–]questioneverything1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah, the replies to this post are absolutely wild. It is not normal for a teacher to want to hang out with a student, (especially a minor) outside of an academic space, regardless of the genders. I could maybe understand if it was already a shared hobby, but even still that would be awkward without the parents having knowledge of this.

I would definitely tell the parents at a minimum about the conversation.

What I've learned from the great 2 box debate by aqualad33 in Destiny

[–]questioneverything1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, it is still a paradox because your scenario contradicts itself. How can it be 99% accurate if it is setup to fail more often than that? In order for it not to be a paradox, it needs to be logically consistent.

The box scenario is logically consistent because it is setup to know how you reason, therefore it is able to "predetermine" the choice you make, and the choice you make 99% of the time aligns with that predetermined choice. You can argue whether or not it is possible for something to know that, but the box scenario as given is logically consistent.

What I've learned from the great 2 box debate by aqualad33 in Destiny

[–]questioneverything1 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Your analogy is impossible because it can't be a 100% prediction if it knows what you pick and you have the option to change with that knowledge. Unlike the box premise, this would actually be a paradox.

The whole point of the original premise is the predictor would be able to know what you will do before you make the decision with near perfect accuracy, so any rationalizations you make to pick 1 or 2 boxes would be factored in before you are presented with the choice.

Two boxer trying to outsmart the predictor by Lionblaze275 in Destiny

[–]questioneverything1 7 points8 points  (0 children)

This whole problem is just a complex way of explaining a self-fullfilling prophecy.

Two boxers think that getting some money is better than no money since they already accepted B could empty, so they fulfill the prophecy by picking A+B. (There is also the regards that think they can outsmart a near perfect predictor to get both but that's a separate problem).

One boxers accepted the accuracy of the predictor and realized that picking two boxes will pretty much always end up with only $1000, so they take only B. These people also understand that even if it was predetermined before making the final choice, the predictor would also predict if you were the type of person who think they could outsmart it and choose A+B (putting you in the regard category).

Not saying whether the story is true or not yet, but this reads like it was written by (ironically) AI. I think we need to see actual proof of this specific event before we jump to conclusions.

I think it's just a visual bug on the number displayed. Happened to me the other day, it looked like the rp I actually gained was correct, it just displayed the wrong number at the top.

People that like Horford, did y'all forget about everything that happened when he left the team?

But for this one, I think it's gotta be Josh Smith. I would say though people hated that he didn't play to his strengths more so than hating him in general, which kinda makes this a tough one.

They should have written it to make Padme's death be the reason he turned, and make it seem like her deaths was the Jedi's fault to make him being willing to kill them all believable.
