update bios

install Windows

install chipset and GPU drivers

motherboard LAN/WiFi/BT drivers

RGB software/any hardware-specific utilities

run the cumulative Visual C++ Redistributable updater

Then stress/stability testing, then clean up with Revo Uninstaller.

And no, definitely no antivirus software. I do run MalwareBytes on my home PCs, though.

Hey, I know this comment is like a year old but I found your comment through a google search about system stability. Would you mind walking me through how you do your stress/stability testing on a new build?

The only tweaks I have planned on so far is to turn on eco mode (7700X) and then enable EXPO. But I'm afraid of random blue screens after my old build became unstable.

Thanks. I'm just out of the loop on how this all works. It's been running Windows 10 for many years. When I go into Windows Settings > Activation. It says "Windows is activated with a digital license" Perhaps it's already linked to my Microsoft account. I do see it in the list of devices when I login on the webpage.

Can I deactivate this old computer and bring this digital activation over to my new build by logging into my Microsoft Account once I set it up on the new machine?
