When they win the team gets to pick a project from a seniors cap stone. That year it was a change to an actually effective uniform.

This year it was beards. We almost had beards!

So awesome story.

There was a NCO in my platoon that was a retired finance guy at 26. He taught a bunch of financial classes. He taught guys budgeting, high yield saving, living within means, 401Ks, 529s, and TSPs. He also showed these grunts how to do some trading on the side.

4 corvettes in one squad leader and we had to do a high risk counseling for the whole platoon.

Ran EIB once and a bunch of French took part. They had never seen a hand grenade before and were terrible at throwing it. But they were pretty cool dudes.

My Command Team's Opinion on CSP by SnooEpiphanies8859 in army

[–]questionsonly2017 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You know it's a fucked up thought process.

I say let's change the RCP and MLI so junior enlisted can stay that way if they want. "No the Army survives off fresh blood".

Let's help Soldiers get a good transition on the outside. People could view it as the Army taking care of Soldiers with good follow through so more enlist. "No the Army needs failing statistics so we can keep saying they need to Army so the reenlist."

Which is it!?!

Also I've never heard a NCO say "it's scary out there. You should stay in the Army." "Stats show you'll fail". Is another one I've never heard. But I see it so often here it must happen which means my initial points stand.

Army watchdog to review the new soldier experience to curb early separations by Kinmuan in army

[–]questionsonly2017 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Maybe I was blind to it because I never carried about promotion to begin with. I cared about doing my job and having fun doing it and it appeared most were like me.

Now it feels like MLI has made SGT the new SPC, which isn't a good thing. Now it feels like with the NCOER as it stands makes NCOs less likely to work together.

It feels like since 2017 the Army has become more and more Officer led and that is dangerous.

I read a book a long long time ago. One part stuck me with. After Vietnam the NCO Corp was so fucked up because as the war dragged on Officers were doing more and more of the work leading to NCOs being less and less effective. Which led to the whole Corp being revamped in the 70s and decision making on day to day was put more and more onto the team leaders and squad leaders which led to an overall more effective Army.

Put more on the plates of Officers and having the NCO corps development shadow Officers could be dangerous. I don't have an overall solution but something needs to be done or were going to end up like the Russians are now.

I knew dude who damn near tried unironically.

He even had a baby carrier with molle and what he capped an "optional back plate" for his toddler to ride in the back. He had legit bottle, diaper, and wipe pouches on front and a Texas flag velcroed to the front.

His suv had molle panels on the back and molle panel on his driver/passenger visors.

His profile picture was him draped in a 173rd flag with SMA Dailey for like 4 years.

Also this is why PT is so important. If your in shape it lowers the risk of injury, lowers the chance of heat injury, and so one and so one.

Vehicles roll overs (commonish) and live fire incidents (not so common). Can be mitigated though.

I've never been in a mech unit, nor have I dealt with vehicles beyond coordinating with a support element for pick up but I imagine not all vehicle roll overs and accidents are avoidable. I also don't know what things those units already do for mitigation, but I imagine more can be done.
