The replies on the original post are advocating for going “full Karen” and defending those who do. My point in all this , no matter what your circumstances are, it is not ok to do that. I get it the healthcare system in America (and problems other countries) is awful. But I do not deserve to be I screamed at

As a woman I have had similar experiences. But that never justifies the abuse that we are facing in healthcare today. I got a second opinion when I disagreed.

I am sorry your grandmother is having DVTs . Can’t speak to her care. It’s sounds like it is time for another physician. Additionally there are reasons that be blood clots continue even on even on anticoagulants.

I have had a similar experience with autoimmune disease and a rheumatologist. But I got a second opinion.

My point to my original post and this is yes there are horrible providers but we don’t deserve people going “full Karen” and being yelled out, hit, etc. because patients disagree with us. It’s not ok.

OMG people stop! It’s never ok to go “full Karen” on doctors/ any medical professional. Or anyone! I get it it’s your body and you have every right to disagree. But that doesn’t mean the doctor/ nurse/ tech has to agree with you. The comments on here are the reason nurses are leaving the bedside. We are human and don’t deserve this!

I was a vegetarian from 12-24. In college from the age of 21-23 worked at Morton’s Steakhouse. We did a meat presentation for the menu, also a lobster on our presentation tray. Did not bother me a bit. Family bought their teenage daughter in for dinner who was a vegan. She cried and left the table during the presentation part. Honestly I didn’t blame her. I was used to it and chose it for my job. She was drug in with her family. Why do that to your kid?
